that is very good for starting with a mouse. Mice are evil! I died of happiness the day I got my tablet!

Working with a mouse is very hard, so this is a really good start. Keep practicing, it's very cute. :D

Okay, you have a long ways to go, but your style is really cute!

Do you know that you can put different layers in an oekaki? That helped me when I was still drawing with a mouse. It's easier to have a sketchy layer and then lineart it on a different layer, that way, I have a base for my drawing and I know where I can lay my cleaner lines. Also, there is something called a bezier tool. It helps you make really nice smoooth and perfect lines, I suggest you try to use it.

Furthermore, you're lineart needs some work. Perhaps choose a thinner lineart: I know it is hard to work with, but just keep practicing and you will get it sooner or later. Here is an art technique I learned that makes lines look better too: tapering. Use and eraser and erase the tips of the lines at an angle to make the tips look sharp and pointed. For some reason, this makes the drawing look really pretty.

Lastly, you need to work on your coloring and shading. You should surf around and look for shading tutorials Just remember that there is a light source and shade everything that is a opposite of that light source.

All in all, you did a pretty good job with a mouse and you can probably improve a lot by practicing! :D
