My advice would be not to get too caught up in the manga/anime style. And drawing avatars for gold and stuff might benefit your wallet, but it doesn't really benefit your development as an artist.
The hardest thing about drawing the human form is knowing it's anatomy. So I'd advise you to look up some tutorials on how to draw the human figure; I'm sure there's some on dA :]
Your art isn't completely horrible, though x3 It does have a good sense of anatomy. What gets most people, though, is the shoulders. Shoulders slope downward from the base of the neck rather than push outward and be bubbly.
Hope I helped.

Thanks for the critiques!
Finally someone who will tell me what they really feel, lawl!
However I do the anime style purposely so that i don't have to spend too much time on anatomy and such, i can draw realism, but I absolutely hate it! lawl!
And I used to draw shoulders sloped down, but it looks horrible to me, lawl
even when good artists do that, i think it doesn't look real/right...

I accually like them!
course i only saw one from each section!
for the pixels though...
you just need to work on the "faces"
maybe start from a base from a pixelart site?
I really like yoru coloured avis though
and for linearts...
just keep practising. you look like you have great potential.

Here is your no sugar-coat answer.
And I know, I'm harsh and I do criticize a lot. (Don't mean anything negative.>.<)
In general:
There is almost close to no shading for your frist pic, the colored one.
The other line arts showed that you are not good at hands, you really need to work with that. Try to draw hand buy looking at you hand or make someone else do your drawing's pose to do the hand. (most people need to work on that.)
And you need help with your anatomy.
They are not that bad, but need work.

@ Peppermint: Thanks for the info about the pixel faces!
I noticed that they were off,
but i wasn't sure how to work on them,
i suck at using computer painting, lawl
@ crystal_wings6 well first of all,
i didn't take your response as mean at all! ^^
I've been trying to work on the hands,
and that's a great hint, i'll try it!
As for anatomy, I very well know how much i suck at that when i'm drawing like so (cartoonish),
but i draw in such a way to avoid spending all that time on anatomy, lawl.
I can draw in realism with all the parts in the right places, but it's just soo boring to me! lawl
keep in mind i draw cartoonish because it's fast, fun, and easy, but maybe i should post one of my realism works to see if there is any anatomy problems there. although i don't think there is, not even my bitchy teachers can find a complaint when i spend time on a work, lawl!
edit: as for the shading, you're right it has none! i might go over it later
and lastly, @ chibilady18 , thanks alot!

Huzzah for people who take critique! <3
K, roses and thorns. I start with roses. I really love the humor in your work. I think you could really use that character. I also think there's something you could do with the... bubbliness of your lines. I can't think of another word to describe it, but it's interesting.
Thorns and thing to work on.
Everything seems a little smooshed top to bottom.
I have serious issues with anime because it is that easy way out. It's a formulaic drawing. I applaud you for messing with the eyes. Maybe you won't go to realism. Maybe that's too frustrating or whatnot. Not every one thinks that way anyway. I do suggest you try drawing... how do I put this... without a style. Without copying another kind of art. If you let the lines arrange themselves without imposing on them you can find all sorts of new ways to pull 'art' together.
Does that make any sense at all?
Meanwhile. If you can't do something "correctly" I personally find it acceptable and exciting to find your own way, your own shortcut. Instead of falling back on anime shortcuts, look at your own work, find your own tendencies and strengths and use them to build a new style of sorts.
For example. Your feet. You could play up that intense flat-bottomed big-toed look the girl in sneakers has. That could be a very interesting effect...
People are going to disagree with me I think. Oh well. Perhaps that helps a little?
Hope I'm not sounding preachy.

Okay, a no sugar answer. @[email protected] I'm really bad at these so if it seems mean it's just because I'm trying not to be nice, okay? (So in other words your art is good don't worry too much about what I say)
Colored Avatar-
I think with some shading it could look much better. Also many items on the face are jumbled together. And the lower body looks a bit funky, maybe the feet?
Lineart Avatars- Overall they're very bland and very anime-y. I think they would look a lot better if you branched out and tried different styles (not necessarily realism, but something different, maybe Disney?) My favorite is definitely the one titled "Even Dumber" I also think so anatomy tutorials would be helpful. Pay close attention to eyes and hands. (Those are the hardest things for me to draw so all I can really say is practice, practice, practice.)
Pixel- I think you're pixeling isn't bad. But I would recommend drawing arms even if you don't want to.
Overall: You have good art but it can always be improved. :3 Just keep practicing. Sorry if this is all really confusing and boring. >.<

also, i see what you mean, and i'll try to work on a new, own style ^^
@i agree with you on antomy tutorials, in fact i've started using a few, and may upload my new improved pictures used from tutorials.
and yeah, i suck at feet, lawl

Huzzah! I'd love to see more work of yours as you keep working. Do post!
Well some people who are wound even tighter than me might insist that you get it right realistically before you even go into stylizing.
It even occurred to me that that may be a better option but I think playing is more important to art than slaving over perfection.
it's more fun that way. :]

Well, practice makes perfect, so you HAVE to practice, even if a little, that is if you want to get better [ not saying your drawings are bad : 3 Plus what I mean by better is improving your style, adding on from what you can learn from atnomy to your drawings and such @ [email protected] Bleh, isnt that the basic meaning though? My brain must be fried or something. Duche. ] I have to practice everyday, one time I didnt draw for a whole week and I forgot how to draw feet or something. [ Or maybe thats cause Im a moron : D ]
Atonomy takes a lot of practice, but for basic atonomy, a stick figure should do it, and you can get off from there. And when I say stick figure I mean

Looks like a stick figure to me xD
If no matter how much you practice the stick figure, you cant get a certain part out right or something theres always tracing >3
Oh, I suck at feet too xD
*pokes at your doodle in the meh thread* x3

I think the face needs some work. Eyes slope. If you notice in professional anime work and others, they start out at the top and slowly slope down and sometimes back up...Hard to explain..
Body needs to be a bit more proportioned, espcially the arms. Just practice more and I'm sure you'll do fine. I think you should look at other's examples of art, that you like, and try to learn from them by just look at their work.

@ kimu; i agree, lately i've been looking at more references and tutorials for anotomy practice.
@Fuyumi_saito; do you have any suggestions about what's the worst/major problem with the arms?
and i agree about faces in my drawings needing some work, but i'm not really trying to make it look like anime (even though it is ^^; )
