O: Where'd his other ear go?

And the arms look a tad too skinny. But other than that it's really cool :3

For a first time, it's pretty good!
I remember my first time. It was really hard. (I thought I was wasting money buying it.) Just practice with it some more! You will be better at it! ^_^.

((trust me, it looked better than my first CG work on my tablet! xD))

Crits: The background seems a bit weird. I'm not sure if the white part are wings or clouds? I thought adding the ear to the left would make it look better since he is looking at us straight on. The armsare a bit too skinny and the eyes seem to look a bit weird. Just practice more though! ^_^.

  • I like it. You have a very distinct style- I like your way with colors and shading.

It's not 'good', especially "for a first drawing" (I wonder how people would have reacted if you hadn't told that. It doesn't excuse any flaws and neither does it lessen the value of the drawing.), it's really good for whatever try and whichever attempt at CG.

Everything is nicely three-dimensional, the colors are bright and look well together, and I'm afraid that feathery stuff around the clouds has me in love.

I can't get past how fantastically strange it is at the moment. My brain is fried. I'll just say it's lovely for now, and give some critique later when I'm more awake.

Thank you both. I worked hard trying to bring out the shading and lighting.

@Varicose: That means a lot saying that you love my clouds. I'm kinda wondering what they would have said too.

@Penny: I'm looking forword to your critique.

Wow! Seriously, this is your first CG piece?
Well, give yourself a nice pat on the back because this is
excellent for the first CG!!
I remember my fist one and it was no where as nice as this one!
Keep practicing.. I think you'll be good <3

Alright. So here's what I'm seeing. Colors are fantastic and it's got a good focal point at that eye. It's lovely how outlandish your objects are.

The one major thing I think could be done to improve it is in the shading on the person. I'd like to see you shade it with the same pizazz that you've used on those fantastic clouds. The person seems a little flat next to them. The lines you used to shade the clouds really bring motion to the picture, the person should either add to and compliment that motion, or it needs... more solidarity for contrast.

There's a sort of line that my eye follows when I look at this. Generally, it's along a sort of curving line that starts up at the dark cresent in the upper left hand corner, curving around the green submarineish thing, then spiraling in around the base of the glass to the eye and that dark stripe. The flow of this picture is thrown off just a little with the direction of the green submarineish thing. It points out of that curve, and intersects a strong diagonal line of stuff you have running across the picture.
I personally would like to see that break repaired. How you do that is up to you. A simple line of white cloud directing back up out of that lower left hand corner would suffice.

Little things really.
I like this much. I think it's quite brave.
