I've been working on this for probably a good...5-6 hours (not straight!) and i probably won't be redrawing it right now. Mostly, i do want critique on the drawing, but beyond that i want critique on my coloring, as i've had a tablet for almost a week and am still getting used to it.

So please, help me become a better artist:

Colouring... Whilst I like the light on his body, it doesn't look right on his head. It needs a bit more blending for it to look good.
I love the hair.

Drawing... Whats with his arms? His ear seems to be missing too, but other than that, just practice...

But the arm... he's just missing them right?

I can tell you've been working hard on this, but I don't have time to critique well at the moment. I'll be back later. <3

oh he's going to have ears, just no arms :p. His nubs are part of the meaning. I need to draw all the little creases and junk from his surgery.

I really need some talking to about skin shading. I suck at it thus far

Are you just using white for the shading on the skin? Usually it's best to use another color, like yellow or even really pale blue depending on the skin tones.

I'd definitely blend some more on the skin. And as you say you have a tablet, I'd also experiment with pressure sensitivity and you can adjust that for things like brush size, opacity, and all the rest. Also, I'd suggest using more than just three colors. Try using at least five colors, if not more, to make the shadows deeper and smoother.

While I'm no expert, I think I may be able to help you. You seem to have a good grasp of where the light is for shading, but the colors are too sudden. I think it could completely change it if you just worked on blending the shading to make a smoother transition. And it doesn't have to be completely blended, just feather it a bit on the edges so he doesn't look so shiny, y'know?

I hope I helped somehow.

blend in some more.. and use yellow like a light yellow for highlights.... blue and purple are also good for the depth shadows..

see your only using like three colors.. the flat the hilight and the shadow.. which is an okay coloring style but its basic... when I do skin I use about 6 colors really to get the depth in it..

you should really use about four or five... base.. a light shadow and dark shadow and a hilight... it helps bring things out a lot better...

my best suggestion is to look up tutorials on coloring skin.. if your on deviant art there are a LOT of very useful tuts I've used a lot of them and they seriously help! But as is it's fine.. just blend a little more the colors are very hard on there but its good!

It looks awesome!

All besides the hair. The hair looks out of place with the rest of the shading.
