I started this one a fair while ago, but only did the magic effect last night. This is Akhila. her game statistics are (for anyone who cares) wizard 5/ bloodmage 2/ geometer 2 / wildmage 1. She's a nagpa, which is a templated human from Dragon.

To translate that to non-D&D players:

She's a mage who uses her blood to power her spells. If she cuts herself while casting a spell it comes out more powerful. She uses and understands strange arcane glyphs and symbols. A spellbook is tattooed onto her body - so she will never be without her magical knowledge.
Her head is in the shape of a vulture, which is a curse put on mages who deny the world their magic.

Thats about the sum of it. In the animation she's just cutting herself to fuel some kind of spell.

LOL! Now that's a clever way to get over carrying big tomes of spellcrafting knowledge everywhere! *hails the cleverness*

What if she got into some EPIC battle, and cut herself up so much she died purely of blood loss?

That would royally suck.
Much.

I mean, come on! xD I would rather cut carrots to fuel spells.

...
>>;
Or, maybe..
She could just cut off parts of her clothes, instead!
That would be in X-rated D&D. Lol.

She can choose not to cut herself and can cast spells the normal way if she's running low on health. Cutting herself makes her take 1 hit point of damage, which isn't very much but _could_ matter in an epic battle.

In such a battle she'd be faced with the choice of preserving her health, or doing more damage. <3

This is why every group needs someone like a cleric, so she can keep upping her powers, cleric can keep healing her and they can kick ass.

We had a cleric in our group. As part of our back story he resurrected me once. You have to have died and come back to life to become a bloodmage.

DnD is awesome! Angel was going to run a campaign on here but most people hadn't played so it would have been a nightmare explaining everything. T_T

We had people resurected, usually by NPCs. I swear the players made things hard on purpose >_<

@whitebeast: It's a text base game, so unless you're like, downloading .pdf's of the rules (which admittedly you might need to do) it should be fine on dial up.

N'the armored one was fine. Thank you. <3
