ya, your right, it does need color...i really need to learn how to first though, so it doesn't turn out worse than it is. It was supposed to be a little not porportioned, but i didnt see that the arms were that shortt. thanx!

The posing is a bit awkward and some of the proportions areoff, but it has the makings of a good chibi-ish style.
Considering it's only a doodle, it's not that bad.
Just trying to give some helpful critiques ^^

perhaps u can improve her expression a bit ^-^
anyway, its cute~

Takuto 12-24-2007 09:34 PM

It is very cute but the arms a bit short.
The hands are weird too. (but she could be wearing gloves so that could just be on my part.)
It is a very cute style, I like it. Just work on it a bit more and you can improve! ^_^. The clothing that she is wearing is very nice too.

It's cute, but like others said, her arms are too short and her hands are too small. Also, her body needs more shape, and her shoulders seems to just slant down, give it more shape. And the legs, at the knees part, it just seems to curve which knees don't do, they bend. Also, add folds to your clothings, also the face seems kind of strange.

Satomi 12-25-2007 01:07 AM

The lower body (from top of skirt down) is excellent. The rest however, very disproportionate. The arms are too short, and there is just something wrong with the torso, like its too long or something. It might just be an optical illusion because of the short arms. The face is a tad bit messed up. When you draw noses, that pointy outline is the nose "pointing out". In saying that, the mouth should be moved to the right more. And the eyes are just too big. There's no room for cheeks. If you're trying to do one of those cute chibi eyes, those require lots of detail and a totally different style type of eye. But I do like how you put that line right above the eye, showing the eye socket. But unfortunately those are used for more, less-chibi styles. The hat is pretty good, as far as the front goes. But as for the back, it's very big... Like she has a tumor in the back of her head. And I just can't make out the hair... or if that's part of the hat. When you use a hat, it covers alot of the hair, and therefore you shouldn't make the hair in layers (a bunch pointy hairs all over).

Try to work on how the limbs bend. So far, it looks like one of those plastic dolls that are supposed to be flexible, but aren't. Joints tend to make angles, not curves.

And the leg positioning doesn't really work out for me.

Fabby 12-25-2007 10:08 AM

Quite adorable.

Her pose... looks painful.
Her joints sort of bend at awkward angles that make her look like she has no bones. Joints shouldn't really curve, they should be pretty angular.

Maria-Minamino 12-25-2007 03:49 PM

The head seems a bit big - not chibi big because I realize chibis have big heads - I mean - the hat is sticking out farther than it should. The limbs are a bit unproportionate and the arms are too short. But you have a really cute style so far and I hope to see more from you in the future :D Good luck!

It looks pretty good for just a doodle. Keep working on drawing.
