I wanted to make something with a steamy feel to it after reading steam punk forums, communities and blogs yesterday. So. Then I did.

Hm. That's great.
I seem to have a lot of problems with drawing like that.
I guess it's because I prefer colors more.

It takes a bit of a knack to get where to put your blacks and where to out your whites for the composition, and then when you have a black background like that you have to make sure you start giving things white outlines which seems counterintuitive.
Practise'd do it though. <3

That picture is awesome! The only thing a little discerning to me is the nose of the skeletion, it has like sort of highlight on it like it's a dog's nose. It's still an awesome picture! How'd you make it?

@Amiiu: I was thinking of adding a lone coloured bit somewhere, but I couldn't think of what to emphasize with it and I thought it might unbalance it. The two colours worked 'aight.

@Shanks: it wasn't meant to be a highlight like a dogs nose, it was meant to be a line showing the inside of the nose, like, it's hollow. Guess I failed there. <3

I made it all in Macromedia Flash. How I did it? I drew her first, with the plan that there'd be a black background. I did her boy, then her clothes all linework. Then figured out which bits to make black and which bits to make white. Anywhere on the outside of her that was a black bit (like her skirt and boots) was given a white outline.
Then I made the airship by looking at a few other pictures of airships. I'd heard about balloons being used to hold up airships and I thought that was cool so I went with that.
Then I put in the horizon line and the stars
and lastly I put in the words dotted around the place.

The most work was put on the skeleton 'o course.
