This is a piece I started the other day for a friend on gaia, this is her fox character Jazz :p She's got two broken limbs there as you can see. And the eyes are supposed to be big like that; I consider this close to my normal chibi style. I want this piece to be really good, and so if you see anything wrong I want to try to fix it. I am going to color this, so I will be posting wips as I finish it. :3

Does it look okay? Think anything should be changed?

For some reason, the positioning of the base of the tail looks a little off to me.

It's very clean and all, except the tail looks very...flat? But that could just be me :/

dichromaticbeagle: Oh I do the lineart in OpenCanvas and then import to photoshop to color. Open canvas gives me the best lineart, and I always clean it up so its nice and sharp. This took me about 2 hours to do the lineart for, while being a little distracted at the same time. :3

J-Adeas: ohh I see, like its too far off her head? I think I'll move it closed above her head, now it looks to me like it is going to fall off or something, lol.

Amiiu: I see what you mean, and I'm hoping in the coloring I can add a lot of depth to it. Usually after a slap of color a lot of the flatness goes away :3

Perhaps a different mouth? Like an open one would be cute. Or a kitty-like mouth since she has those kitty ears and kitty nose.

You use OpenCanvas for lines? What version? I can never get such clean lineart. XD

Kadrias: Oh I use an older free version called Open Canvas b71, and I set the tip feel on my wacom tablet to as soft as it can get (no variation in line thickness). Then I just work using the pencil/pen tool on several layers and clean my lines with the eraser at intersections and to make ends taper off. Then I save as a .bmp and import to photoshop to color. :3 I hope that helps you some? ^__^

i think it looks fine, shaping of the form would be taken care with coloring. it's a really cute style, and reguarding to inking, i see nothing that wrong, it's all ready to be colored >w< at least that's what i think.

I finished the art Friday night and I wanted to show you guys how it turned out colored n___n I edited the ear placement first as J-Adeas suggested, then put on flat colors and shaded them in. Originally Jazz asked for a morning piece where her OC is waking up, so I hope this lighting suits that :3 Jazz was very happy with this picture and I'm glad I could give her something nice and grow a little as an artist with this piece! o w o
