Well, this took me three days, and I needed to loosen up my hand on the drawing and Photoshopping because I was completely rusty and started getting in many commissions; therefore, I needed a practice piece to make sure I still had my game.

This is a drawing of myself and my best friend. I wanted to do something with blue, and I guess this came out. I appear very lazy, don't you think? XD;

Sketched on paper, then coloured in Photoshop 7.0.

Comments and / or critiques are welcome. <3 Thanks for viewing!

I really like your realistic style! :D A personal preference would be to take off the black lines and make it a full painting without lines, but I just love digital paintings so maybe I'm biased. XD

The shading and color usage is really great, as well. :D Great job! ^__^

Thanks a bunch! I do try and take the lines off of some of my pictures, but it's always so messy underneath, and by the time I'm totally finished, I'm too lazy and satisfied with the finished result with lines that I don't want to have to go back over and touch things up. The sketch lines sort of help define the features more, I guess.

Thanks for your comment, dear! ^__^

It's very nice, you did a great job. I like the blue on the window in the back a lot.

My one suggestion would be to make the shadows on their faces a bit more defined. As is, I think the shadows are too similar to their skin colors and it might be better if they were darker.

I kind of like the black lines myself, but I think it would look good whether you keep them or get rid of them.

Thanks so much, Violet!

I did struggle with the shading on their faces -- if I went any darker, though, it would look more dark brown than anything. The colours I used for the skin on both subjects was very very pale to begin with, so it's not so bad of a shade, I guess. Though, I noticed that myself, as the atmosphere is, indeed, very dark save the light from the window, and it bothered me that I couldn't make more of a defining difference between the skin and the shadow -- so you're not the only one that caught it! ^^;

Thanks you again for the critique! <3

Always happy to help. :D

It always kind of bothers me when people only say, "Oh, that's so cute!" instead of actually trying to help improve.

I really like it. You did a awesome job. I'm better at drawing scenery and animals. I can not draw people.

Thanks again, Violet. I agree -- simple comments like that make me angry. >< I know I need to improve because my art is far from professional, much less amateur at all, so I like the critiques to help me improve!

And thank you, Tiger Lily! I wish I could draw scenery -- I've always had a hard time drawing seascapes or landscapes, or even indoor rooms or what not. . . I'm not much of an object person, I tend to favor people the most. As for animals, I'm limited in that category. I can only draw very cartoonish cats. XD;

Is the arm wrapping her?
It seems a bit weird. Overall, it is really nice though.
Your style and coloring is amazing.
(they hair is gorgeous!)

Nono -- she's lying stomach down on a bed of some sort and he's just behind her, craned up a bit so he's staring at the person looking. I know it's a bit odd, but the bit of body that you're seeing coming from under her hair and going to the right is her back and left shoulder. I tried to make her shirt a bit lighter than his but still retain that dark blue color. Sorry it looks so weird -- I thought it looked odd too while I was doing it, but it grew on me. Ah well.

Oh, and thanks for the comment on the hair -- it took me at least an hour to do. I'm very satisfied with the results though! ^__^
