Um, so...hi. =D

I've never seriously pixeled before now, so you have been warned: these dolls are small and simple. And small. You have to squint to see much.

Now, yes, I'm a newbie (n00b, n00b b00b, whatever) at pixeling, and I'm ashamedly proud of my bases I created, but something's missing. Can anyone help me figure out what that something is? >:

The one at the very end with the blue background reminds me of Mikami from Death Note.

Not bad at all for a beginner!

Aww, they're cute! :D

As far as critiques go, I can't come up with much, they're nice! You might consider using a little more contrast when you shade them (something I need to do as well XD), because the shading is a bit hard for me to see (of course, I just woke up and my eyes are still bleary)... and the girl in the middle's arms might be a pixel or too long.

But they're really adorable, and I do like the minimal shading. I think they're great for a first serious attempt. :D

The only big thing I really see is, in the hair, clothing, and base, there is pretty much no shading at all. The second thing I notice is, there are not folds in the clothing or anything, which can be fixed by using shading, so the only big thing is the fact that there is no shading, but other than that, it's pretty good for a beginner! :]

I suck at shading folds, so I was expecting this. XD Do you happen to know of any good tutorials on clothing folds? I haven't found any reliable ones, so any help is much appreciated. <3

Batsy: Contrast as in "MORE HIGHLIGHTS, STUPID!"? XD I need more of those...and I've wondered about the arm lengths, but I'm still not sure how long or short is good. Back to the proportions chart, eh?

Dystopia: Mikami? o-o; I can't remember who that is, I have to go see...XD; Alexshim is this character, and he's an evil sexy bad man.

`Panda.Lover: I don't expect them to be the cutest in the whole wide world; I suck at cute. XD I tend to go toward the dark side, so saying they're at all cute is high praise to me. <3

Sisely: Thank you, and thank you everyone else, as well!

I'm going to start making another doll to post, and see if I can implement anything y'all have told me. <333

They're cute.. small but cute. the more you pixel the better you get I think, so no worries, you're already pretty good for your first time ^^

They certainly are not bad for a beginner at all! *nods* With pixels of that size you really do not need to worry about shading or anything such is that. They look quite cute as they are!

Anyways, good luck with your pixels! I would say next to move up in size and slowly build upon your skills form tehre

They're very cute, but I see next to no shading. (you said to be harsh, so...)
Part of the problem may be that you have such a tiny base you can't really make any good shading. I advise you to go out there and search for some much bigger bases that you can practice clothing folds and shading on.

Go to this site:
http://scarmy.modern-enigma.net/, then click on "Dollz" at the bottom, and there'll be a tutorial on the page there under "other". It's a pretty helpful tutorial, and I suggest you read it and then practice on some of her bases. The best way to learn to shade clothing folds, though, is to learn how to draw them in real life. If you have curtains in your house, I suggest you sit down and spend half an hour or so drawing them and examining how the folds look.

Much of luck on your pixeling!
