I'm going to go out on a limb and critique you. Because I see great potential in this thing. Just punch me if you don't want to hear it. ;)

I rather like the pose. Actually I really like it. It's odd. And sort of wooden. That's a good thing in my opinion. Good lines in the motion.
I think the soft color pallet is effective as well.

I question the use of computer generated texture in the background. I think it needs to be there, but a more natural grain may distract less.
Your anatomy is not perfect. But it doesn't bother me on the body, because your soft shading leaves me able to accept it easily as a choice, not a mistake. Slightly larger feet might be a good option though.

More than anything I'd want to see a stronger choice in the expression on the face. What would happen if the face were deadpan? Or if the expression were more extreme?
Just rhetorical questions for you, you don't have to answer them for me.

The vaguely concerned, possibly confused face he has now sucks all the tension out. And the body is so full of tension it's distracting.

All in all, I really like the concept underneath.

lol no critique is great. its hard to get people to do so......

ill think about the facial expression. I was trying to make it look like he was concentrating or slightly annoyed at whatever he was shooting at......(I hadn't thought it looked confused but once you said that i can see it........i sorta like the idea of him looking confusingly at something in the distance though....like he doesn't know where it is)

You think i should make the body less tense? but i think it would take away from the position.....he is tense and concentrating to hit the target...........(lol it cracks me up when i think of it so seriously like this =]) but i wanted him to look like he could be holding a real gun and it wouldn't look out of place....

The texture isn't a background its a overtone (dont think thats the right terminology but effectively what it is......like color layers above the picture..) but what do you mean by a more natural grain? i was trying to make it look older/less bright/more sepia like, but i didn't try to much stuff (i normally use pictures or newspaper for this but this one was just drawn with a brush quickly) By natural do you mean less grainy?

The feet are most distracting to me. Other little problems I only really notice after staring at it for awhile.

The style you are developing is eye-catching and interesting. I can't think of the word exactly, but nevertheless, I find it appealing. Particularly the style of his hair and face and the build of his body.

In the first picture, I like the profile of the face, but am distracted by his hair. The way it connects is odd to me somehow, though I haven't developed my eye enough to be able to tell you why. The hair itself is very nice; detailed. Better than I could do definitely, but flat. It needs a light source. Again, I don't really know how to explain this, but some parts of the hair should be emphasized.

I love your coloring style in the first one, especially the hair. I think the second one has a nice pose but it is really stiff looking. Maybe add more curves to the legs..?
