I started out with an anime style, yet I grew to want how to learn how to draw a more realstic style. So, I managed to put both styles together in the end, and now I have my own style. It took a long while though. :D

I got a mixe way. I'm very influenced by artists.
I earlier started with Sailor Moon. Then it modifies more to my style then the eyes changed to a sort of mix my style + the sort of eyes that they use to do CGs.

For my coloring style. I came up with it gradually cause I really like shading. lol One time my friend even say the guys toxido looks like aluminium. lol
But it can't be help I just LOVE light and darkness. lol
And my CG is very plastic like...

I have many different styles.
I draw realistically, anime, cartoon, and then there's just the things that come out from my head.

I can't stick to one style because it gets boring and I'd feel too overwhelmed if I just stuck to one style cause I need my freedom to express myself, even though that sounds really gay lol

Sometimes when I'm really stuck and have an artist block, I'll look to other artists for inspiration but other than that my mind, my own creativity, my curiosity and passion is all I need.

April - thats exactly how I feel with styles.
Ive tried Manga/anime, larger eye style anime, semi-realisim, realisim, etc.
I get bored if I stick with the same thing, especially coloring. Its so mundane doing the same thing over and over again. Especially certain coloring styles that basically follow a forumula - "first add a base color, then go over it with a drak color than do-" no, just no D:

lol, at least I don't have that kind of problem. I don't do digital which really need that formule, but with pencil you can do what ever.

For me it's kind of. Not that I want to change the style. But sometime as I go coloring. It sort of changes by it self. I think my coloring style change 4 big times. Other are small changes not really noticeable.

when I first started drawing I was always drawing unicorns XD (this was like, in elementary school rofl, 3-5th grade), and they weren't terrible, but they weren't the best thing. I don't think I was copying anything except for what saw in my mind (plus, I was like, obsessed with unicorns when I was little XD).

Then when I got my first manga, Sailor Moon of course XD, I read it in like 30 mins and LOVED the art style. I wanted to copy it and draw just as good XD so I'd flip to a page that had a picture I really liked and I'd attempt to copy it.

Personally I think that really set the basis for my learning the human anatomy and proportions, along with learning it in art class. Both things helped me to develop an understanding of the body and how long arms and stuff should be. Then I got into Rayearth by CLAMP and I started copying some of the pictures from those books and got even better.

Now I'm trying to find my own style, and it is kind of challenging because I don't know...
it is like trying to find myself? XDD
I'm so used to copying the mangas it has made it kinda hard, but I think I've kinda settled into one style of drawing, now I need to find a way to colour my pictures~

I don't think I've ever really copied any one else's style.

I've gone through so many styles of drawing, just trying to find one that suit me.

True, I've been influenced by other people's art.

Like, I'll like how they draw noses, so I'll try doing it, but giving it my own flare, and sometimes that will develop into a whole new style.

It took years and years of going through style's but I believe I found the one that I love.

It's more edgy and angular.
And less anime-ish.

Example of my first sketches with the new style. Doodled with mouse.

I like to draw my own way. But sometimes I mix it with other styles[that i like most] and well...in the end it will become all mine. Do you know what I'm saying?

Usually if an artist draws something [like eyes] better I tend to try it to see what makes it better than my way.

I've had my own personal drawing style for some time. However, I will admit that most of my drawings tend to be manga remniscent, with influences extremely by CLAMP (Because their artistic detail to everything is inspiring! Oh!), but also by various other artists (Mangaka or otherwise) whose style I'm intrigued or inspired by.

I love, love, love drawing and doodling! I feel that I drew with my own style for sometime, but I was never really as dedicated to drawing on a regular basis until I was inspired to do so...which happened shortly after I developed an interest in anime/manga...starting with the ever-so-wonderful CLAMP (Own practically all of the series they've ever made...want so badly to be a protige or 5th member of their group), and progressing from there.

So, in response to your statement, I think that each person can have their own drawing style...but can hone their talents by being guided/directed by the talents or styles of others ^_^ That's what happened with me, anyway.

I can never try to make up my own style. ^^ I'm not too creative. D: Most of my art works are inspired by Clamp or some other Manga drawers. <3

I can't say that my style is original, because I'm influenced by many artists. I sort of chisel at it. Say, I'm drawing an eye, and I see another eye that looks better. I start drawing that. I sort of refine my work by looking at others.
