Yes, 2 very big leaves. I had to do big leaves because otherwise, as you can see in rejected, it makes it wayyyy too complicated. I discovered that it is to the point I'd never be able to shade it

hmm... I like the leave for the rejected one.
The shape, maple leaf type. I won't suggest doing a clump of leave like that.
Try extract the 'element' of Maple leaf?

Example~ the pointy leave shape. You may replicate this pointy leave as the trouser's hem shape?
You can even make that into the pocket shape?
The more obvious one is to print that maple leaf in pattern or in a line.

Yep... what makes a maple leaf look like a maple leaf. Those are the elements.
Like mentioned above, the pointy shapes. The V lines.

Skirt... that depends on how you merge the designs into pants.
Do a simple plain pants, then add in a maple leaf pocket.
