Yes.
There is a Jekyll and Hyde Musical.
I myself was not aware until my school rented the rights and performed it.
It was AMAZING.
Admittedly, our Emma's voice was crap, but other than that our cast was amazing.
Our drama department constructed a huge bridge type thing eight feet tall for the stage.
They actually bolted it into the stage and got into trouble for it, but that;s besides the point.
It was used a lot for scenes, and the effect was amazing.
We had the band and orchestra perform the music.
I was in the orchestra.
We don't have a literal pit in front of our stage, and needless to say that backstage was crowded.
We were hidden behind curtains, and Jekyll jumped off the stage during Bows to open them so the audience could see us.
And yes, I said Jekyll. Not Hyde.
We had twins! One played Jekyll, one played Hyde, and it was amazing.
Especially since in the last number, Confrontation, they were arguing with each other, and literally throwing each other across the stage.
Opening and 2nd night were cool, but on the third night there were technical difficulties.
We couldn't get the lights to go out and achieve full black out.
But the entire experience was amazing just the same.
So...
Anyone seen it in real life?
Anyone seen it in general?
Anyone's school perform it?
Anyone have any part in it?
What's your favorite piece?
