H.I.M. happens to be one of my all time favorite bands. They are from Finland, the lead vocalist is a man named Ville Valo, who is amazing. Ville puts their music in it's on genera of 'love metal'. They symbol is the 'Heart o Gram' which is a pentagram in the shape of a heart. I would really call it emo music..since most of his lyrics are about love and death. Even though their original name was "His Infernal Majesty" they switched it to HIM because their Finnish fans couldn't pronounce "infernal" lol.

The first song I heard by them was a cover they did of a Chris Issak song "Wicked Game". After that I was hooked, I own every one of their CDs. My all time favorite song happens to be "for you". It used to be my ring tone for my hubby. lol

I know there are other fans on Mene...I looked to see if there was a separate thread for this band, and couldn't find one in the sub forum list or in a search.

My fav song is "For you"

I sawe them live on their first American tour. They put on a pretty good show, and Ville was very concerned about everybody once he noticed that people were passing out from the heat (they had too many hundred people jammed into a club in a desert town in July). He told great stories and they did a lot of their old songs. I kept shouting for him to do Love's Requiem, which isn't just my favorite HIM song, but one of my top 5 favorites of all time. At one point he looked at me like "How do you know this?" because most of the people attending hadn't heard anything besides Wings of a Butterfly. Not to sound all indie elite, but I had gotten into them about three months before they became really popular and released Dark Light stateside...I was sorta on the tail end ;P. I was a huge fan of Bam Margera in high school and that's where I'd first heard of HIM, but it was only when I heard the Gregorian cover of Join Me that I got really into them. Join Me has a special place in my heart as the first HIM song I'd ever heard.
I'm not too crazy about the newest album...the only song I really like is Cyanide Sun. I can listen to that one on repeat for hours, though.

I honestly haven't heard much of H.I.M.'s stuff, but I'd like to listen to more of it. Ville has an incredible voice. And I LOVELOVELOVE Finnish metal! One of my recent favourite songs, though, that Ville takes part in is Bittersweet, by Apocalyptica. But it's got Ville from H.I.M. and Lauri Ylonen from The Rasmus. It's such a pretty song! I really love it! Any metal from Finland, I'm bound to love!

H.I.M kicks serious butt

I too am a really big fan of HIM:) I started listening to them in 2005 and now I have 9cds, 2dvds, 2shirts, 1tin, 1keychain, and I have a heartagram on my wrist. I was the first to get Venus Doom from a walmart in Greenville Michigan and I will be the first to get screamworks: love in theory and practice from there.

H.I.M. is so... weak... In my opinion, tried to keep up but it wasn't really my thing.
