I'm really in love with Celtic music. If anyone is aware of any good songs, let me know. My favorites so far are things by Enya, the opening to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, and the music of Altan. I like folk music as well. Anyone else like it?

I have some songs that are a Celtic Tribute to Metallica. Its beautiful, calming, and overall wins the day. The group is "The Boys of Country Nashville". They did it awsomely. I also listen to a little Celtic Rock, the groups name is Rawlins Cross.

Love the stuff. My BF and I listen to it all the time. Sadly I can not think of the name of the bands I have other than highland kings. I will have to go home and look up who else I have on my computer.

I love Celtic music. I never listen to any one artist, so I don't really know many artists outside of Enya. However, I absolutely adore the music, I love how it sounds and aside from that...I myself have irish blood flowing through my veins. So I feel like it's a part of my heritage. D:

I would have to agree. And Im pretty certain that anyone with Irish blood in their veins, even a small amount, would agree. For me though, it just stems from it being soothing, and it helps me relax if Im really stressed aboout something....or when I just feel all super happy/hyper for some weird unexplainable reason.

Indeed. Celtic music is indeed very soothing, though it makes me want to dance. xD I can't dance the way you're supposed to according to dance with that kind of music, but that never stops me.

I could possible learn from my cousins who do some competitions, but that involves spending time with them outside of family settings. And personally, they are great kids, just not the people I would hang out with outsided of family gatherings. =/

Aw, I understand. I have family like that, though I'm not exactly excited about hanging out with them at said gatherings. I don't have any living Irish relatives or anyone who knows how to dance like that unfortunately. It's one of those things where I have wistful thoughts about what it'd be like to learn, but...I don't care enough to make a real effort to go and actually learn it.

I Love Celtic Music!

Kinship, Wicked Tinkers, Celtic Spirit are all amzing celtic bands. Celtic Woman is also an amazing singer. "The Voice" "The Butterfly" and "Walking in the Air" are beautiful, haunting songs.

Kinship has this up-beat-dancy kind of tune, with hilarious lyrics. Although their more somber songs can give you goose bumps and make you cry.
Wicked Tinkers are music only, with the exception of a few songs. Again light-hearted pipe and drums kinda deal.
And Celtic Spirit is a band I know personally. They're from Scotland, and they came to my home city to play a charity concert with my cousins band. Three guys. 2 drums and a piper. They are amazing!

Haha, I am really in love with celtic music this days, really :) My personal favourites are: mentioned before Eluveitie (their acoustic album is simply amazing, I could listen to it 24 a day xD), Omnia, Loreena McKennitt and Beltaine.
Enya is pretty much a classic, I remember listening to her music when I was younger, but now not so much ;p

There's still quite a number of a bands I've hear about some good stuff, but haven't had chance to get to know their music yet.

Oh, yeah, celtic music really makes you want to dance!

Last November I even started learning Irish dance so, yeah, I'm slowly learning to dance to this type of music xD

Celtic/Folk metal is where its at! Eluveitie, Suidakra, Tyr, Finntroll, Ensiferum, Wintersun, Vintersorg...and many many more are some of the best celtic/folk metal out there. Irish Rovers are pretty good too..lol

I listen to some of the more traditional Celtic music, but mostly, it's Celtic rock for me. Flogging Molly & Dropkick Murphys are my favorites. =D
Actually, I'm going to see Flogging Molly on Monday. Hope it's not as crazy as the last time I saw DKM. Haha.
