May I ask what exactly you mean by classic music? My first thoughts went to classical, but then you mentioned about you feeling that the lyrics have soul, so I'm left somewhat unsure as to how to respond, sorry.

If you mean classics, like classic rock and oldies like Beatles and Rolling Stones, then I got YOU! LOL, but really. I am really into the old music, so I can recommend lots of artists. If you wanna know specific songs, let me know, but for now, just the artists.
Foreigner
Temptations
Boston
Allman Brothers
Steve Miller Band
The Police
Creedance Clearwater Revival
Heart
Journey
Four Seasons
Buddy Holly
Ricky Nelson
Rod Stewart
REO Speedwagon
Poison
Styx
Bob Segar
The Supremes
I can list more, but this is a good list so far. But if you know of them, I can make another list.

Yeah, if you're thinking what Mewmew's thinking, you just need to get the famous stuff first of all. Even if it's like Supertramp. That shit's classic, even if it doesn't seem like it. But like, anything from the 70s that's still listened to is worth getting into, methinks. Zeppelin, the Clash, the Stones, Pink Floyd...

Hermes listed some great bands.
You should even get into those that aren't totally as popular.
Edgar Winter, James Gang, Cream, Derek and the Dominos, Joe Walsh, Jackson Browne, The J. Geils Band, Nazareth, Pilot, Mott the Hoople, The Hollies, Lou Reed.

Hmmm... I haven't listened to any of those really. xD
Except the J. Geils Band. I really found them to be a bit of a one hit wonder though, to be honest. Centerfold was alright, but Must Have Got Lost is brilliant and they never matched it.
Ohhh, how about Electric Light Orchestra? Bachman-Turner Overdrive? (the three big acronyms: ELO, BTO, CCR) Springsteen?
Cat Stevens is pretty awesome too, but now we're getting into more pop music, and I know little there that's 'classic' other than... Cat Stevens. xD

Sorry about forgetting the doors. I love them and didn't mean to.
But you forgot AC/DC, Styx, Foreigner, Bad Company, The Cars, David Bowie, Grand Funk Railroad, Kinks, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Police, Bob Segar, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Guns and Roses, Steve Miller Band, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, REO Speedwagon, U2, .38 Special, and Fleetwood Mac.
Oh, also John Melencamp and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

No I didn't, most of those were already mentioned. I was listing artists I hadn't seen anyone else suggest.
For the record, I despise AC/DC save for the song Highway to Hell. I also don't care for a number of other artists you listed so I wouldn't have included them anyway

Queen is amazing! I am a big Freddie fan :boogie:
Another band that deserves a mention would be Runrig. They are amazing, maybe not quite as classic as some of the classics here but they deserve a mention.

I don't know if he's really famous enough, but he's pretty classic. Y'all should find y'selves some Warren Zevon.
And did anyone ever mention like, Genesis and Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins?
Also, Meat Loaf.
Joan Armatrading is pretty rocking.
But are we talking only rock here? Because there's a lot of amazing classic stuff that's not really 'rock'. Like, Bob Dylan, or Van Morrison. =P And then that'll lead me into like, The Traveling Wilburys. Cat Stevens is the greatest 'pop' musician of all time, I think.
