i believe it is just a form of expression saying that heavy metal is so rampant and so popular there that its almost all your hearing there kind of a metaphorical way of saying that's the new trend

I'm pretty sure that there were/are plenty of fans who have shrines dedicated to their favorite band/musician, ELVIS anyone?!? And in a way worship the music. I don't see it as much of a stretch. Religion differs from person to person, Jedi is an acceptable for of religion. So this doesn't really bother me, Religion works differently for different people.

God is whoever or whatever you want it to be. XD I always joked around with my sister about how I was going to start my own church worshiping music since people tend to make almost cult-like followings for it anyway. XD
