I just think it's interesting to see the randomly stupid names that newer bands/artists are going with. Shit like Owl City (as if Death Cab for Cutie wasn't already bad enough), Neon Trees, and Paper Tongues. I mean, really? Did you just open up a dictionary and pick two words at random?

Hahaha those are pretty interesting XD I have heard some pretty bad ones back when I was in High School O__o

"Blue Oyster Cult" is a pretty weird one... no matter how much I like the band XD I've never really been able to translate that name into an image.

Possibly one of the strangest names I have ever heard for a band. But not nearly as bad as some of the names I've come up for possible bands.

Funny you should say that because my friend did that with his band. XD The band opened a dictionary and pointed to a word and that's their name still, 10 years later. XD Their called Taproot, which I think is pretty bad even though I like their music. XD

Anal C*nt has to be one of the worst that I've seen personally. I mean if you can't even print your band name on a ticket then it's pretty bad. I also think that Uncle Cracker is pretty bad too.

@Mystic- I just knew those were the guys you were thinking of! Even before I scrolled down I had the feeling that was who it was gonna be.

Prosthetic C--- are even worse. Their song titles are pretty awful also.

In spite of this, the music isn't too bad. Punk/noise/mathrock sort of stuff.

Taproot is pretty good so at least they're decent! :lol:

I actually quite like one of Neon Trees' songs. 'Animal' is brilliant. Such a happy little tune.

Anyway, the worst band name, well the one that springs to mind, would definitely be Hell Bullet. It's some punk/grimecore band that my boyfriend loves. They all have really awful names, but I think that Hell Bullet just sounds so weak in comparison.

Not to mention one of the most vile names I've heard, from yet another punk band, and they're called The Creamed Cunts. *shudder*

Safe to say, none of those are mainstream...

I dislike band names that contains umlauts "just to look cool". It's also a bit embarrassing that I used to totally pronounce them wrong.

Creed-ance Clear-water Revive-all. But 90% of people dont know their true name, and use the accronym, CCR.

As for bands with bad/weird names, well...
