What kind of Music are you into?

Basically I'm curious what kind of music you all listen to.
And on top of that, I want to know what artists you like the best from that genre of music.

For me, I listen to mostly rock.
And my favorite artists are;
1. Avenged Sevenfold
2. My Chemical Romance
3. The Offspring
4. Nirvana
5. Escape The Fate

Now I wanna know what you listen to! :D

DaisyKeehl 04-09-2012 06:34 PM

I listen to all types of music.

Mostly dance, screamo, metal, and rock though.

In fact I am listening to Escape the fate at this very moment.

th4i 04-09-2012 06:34 PM

Escape the fate is so good for the soul.
Lol, they make me happy.

Dillo 04-09-2012 06:37 PM

The bands I have been listening to the most lately:
1) Hey Rosetta
2) Manchester Orchestra
3) Nirvana
4) Dan Mangan
5) Van Morrison

th4i 04-09-2012 06:39 PM

Is it strange that the only person I know from your list in Nirvana?
.___.

What kind of music is that?

DaisyKeehl 04-09-2012 06:41 PM

Is it weird that I know everyone from his list xD

I agree about Escape the fate. Well... only Ronnie

Dillo 04-09-2012 06:43 PM

Well two of them are Canadian bands. (represent! weeeo)

Pa-chinko 04-09-2012 06:43 PM

I adore Chopin. I like most genres, but I tend to lean onto a variety of lounge/relaxation music, and also really electronic music like stuff that DJ Pogo (I LOVE his mix Upular on the movie Up) and not just the singing but the other instruments in Vocaloid songs.

th4i 04-09-2012 06:44 PM

No wonder I have no idea who they are.
Lol, I really need to go to Canada for a while.

And I don't really know what Chopin is either.

wow, I seriously need to expand my views on music. Lmao.

Dillo 04-09-2012 06:46 PM

I have never heard of chopin either!

heres some Dan Mangan: Dan Mangan - Rows Of Houses (Official Music Video) - YouTube

SOGOOD.

th4i 04-09-2012 06:49 PM

I shall listen. :)

Dillo 04-09-2012 06:52 PM

Its more folkie though, not really anything like your list.^^

th4i 04-09-2012 06:54 PM

I listened to it.
It's not bad, it kinda reminds me of the Fray, a little bit.
:P
I used to totally love that type of music.
I'll get back into it eventually i'm sure.
But i like it. :)

`Haru 04-09-2012 09:33 PM

Never heard of any of them, and can't even pronounce them!

`Haru 04-09-2012 11:23 PM

haha ~ some aren't that known even if you were into Japanese stuff

you should have a listen sometime! maybe you might like what you hear, hm ;3

ElysiumFate 04-09-2012 11:55 PM

@Th4i: Omg, you haven't heard of Chopin? He's a famous composer from the romantic period of classical music, so 1800s. I'm sure you'd recall hearing one of his compositions if it were played for you.

Anyway, I mostly like Alternative, and that's pretty much alternative anything when it comes to music.

I adore:
  • Puscifer
  • Rob Thomas
  • Adele
  • Muse
  • William Fitzsimmons
  • Tool
  • Korn
  • Incubus (absolute adoration here)
  • Jessie J
  • Smash Mouth

Yeah, there's probably more, but I don't want to bore ya'll.

I listen to a lot of types of music.. But I'm a sucker for an awful indie rock song. My boyfriend hates over half of my iPod music. Don't care. I love it. :D

The Killers, New Order/Joy Division, Modest Mouse, Hard-FI, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

I'm also in rap and dance. I like to get up and shake my but to LMAFO, Black Kids, and Millionaires.

Vox 04-10-2012 01:33 AM

Hm, top five favorite artists? My last.fm profile says The Mars Volta, Led Zeppelin, The Black Keys, The Avett Brothers, and Horse Feathers. That's probably fair, although I moved them into the correct order since I listen to a lot more Black Keys and Avett Brothers when my significant other is around.

Woodlandnymph 04-10-2012 02:28 AM

Hey Thai, I'm gonna go ahead and move this over to the music forum, since it fits better in over there :)

Also,
Great Big Sea
Flogging Molly
Loreena Mckennitt
Gaelic Storm
Mumford and Sons
Florence and the Machine
Mika

and much much more! ;)

The Real Nikki 04-10-2012 03:17 AM

I like Mika. Very good

Mystic 04-10-2012 04:54 AM

I like music in general. I listen to a bit of everything but most of the time I listen to alternative type music. I can't pick a favorite artist since it changes with my mood but my boys in Taproot are at the top of my list. Florence + the Machine is up there as well as Mumsford and sons, Rise Against, Black Crows, Rocco Deluca & the burden, Our Lady Peace, and Mobile.

Plushie Doll 04-10-2012 07:03 AM

The music I always listen to is K-POP. (I'm a huge K-POP fan)
But I also play the violin so I also like those classical kind of music :)
I usually like all/every kind of K-pop songs there are (R&B, Ballet, Pop, Rock, Trot LOL)
But for English songs, I like Stevie Hoang and some songs I listened to when I was little.
Recently I've been like the song "Lemon Tree" by the Fool's Garden LOL.

xXxJanitryxXx 04-10-2012 11:19 AM

I listen to a wide spread of music. Usually its R&B, rock, hip-hop, or very little country.. But my brother will blast his speakers listening to something I have no idea what they're saying. Mainly its Japanese music... But my top 5 would have to be

1. Adele
2. Auburn
3. The Script
4. Avril Lavigne
5. Lil Wayne
