I've been learning to play the piano. I know how to play the flute, from when I was in band XP And, I know how to play the bass guitar.

I'm not in a band, but me and my friend are always talking about making a band. I would probably sing in it though.

Fullmetal Phantom 12-31-2007 02:25 AM

Sadly...I'm purely a vocalist.

I have tried to learn three instruments - flute, piano, and guitar - and failed miserably at all three. When/if my hand heals from my latest injury, I'm going to try again with the piano...but I'm not expecting anything good to come of it. XD;

I just could never get the feel for the flute, no matter how hard I tried. After two years, I could still rarely get any sound to come out of it. I was...really, REALLY bad at it. XD;

Piano - this one is my right hand's fault. It NEVER worked the way it was supposed to. EVER. I could get the left hand stuff just fine, and I could do the right hand separately...but when I tried to combine the two? My right hand would try to follow my left. No matter how hard I tried to put a stop to this, it ALWAYS happened like this. I grew to despise practicing, because it was just plain frustrating.

Like I said, I'm going to try again; I've been training my hands better than before...but I'm still afraid it just won't work. My hand is EVIL like that.

Guitar - same problem as above. Stupid hand. >(

But I am moderately good at singing. And I do consider the human voice to be an instrument. So...I guess that's mine. ^^;

Recorder, Baritone, and Piano. C:
i wanted to play the trumpet for music class, but got stuck with the baritone. T___T

Muggles Running Amok 12-31-2007 05:47 AM

I've been playing piano for about seven years. I'm sort of kind of in a band- we're indie/alternative/acoustic.

Tilly 12-31-2007 03:39 PM

Acoustic Guitar and Piano or Keyboard. XDD

I also provide backup vocals. :3

girl_4327 12-31-2007 04:05 PM

I don't play any musical instrument..
I wish I do..

dichromaticbeagle 01-07-2008 12:42 PM

I play Guitar Hero. XD And darn good at it too!

Heh, but I also play woodwind instruments such as the Recorder(got soprano and sopranino and alto), Oboe, and Saxophone.

I used to play the Piano...many many years ago.. And, I guess I can sing..enough to save my life. XD

Oh, and just a few weeks ago, my cousins and I formed a band. We had our first gig a couple of days ago. (Ended up being the vocalist). =_=

broken.crayons 01-31-2008 08:49 PM

I've played the piano for almost 7 years now. I started violin lessons, but decided just to stick with piano.
I want to be in a band, but there's not really anybody at my school or in the area that I know of that needs a keyboardist. Dx

Rainbows 01-31-2008 10:32 PM

Haha~

I play the Bass Clarinet/Clarinet for an orchestra, and I like to mess around with he flute, tuba, and saxaphone in spare time with friends(I can't play them beyond two or three notes > -<)~

I like touching guitar strings and making them twang, but I can't play, at all <3

I play the piano as a funnel for my emotion. I play around with tones and different chords, but nothing good. > w< I play when I'm alone because it's mostly whatever sounds good at the time, nothing organized.

>> I do beats with spoons, and random beats with anything. Like, a percussionist, but without formal training.

..I'm a freelance nonsence-musician! Lol!

My little brother (who's ten) Wants me to play the keyboard in his 'band' <<
It's so cute with all his little short friends, I couldn't resist saying yes!
So, I guess you could say I play in a band called 'Three Man Riot'...?

-clearly female-

Heavenly Beast 02-01-2008 03:34 PM

I play the Bass Guitar, Drums, Piano, and am learning to play the Xylophone. [.. Or however it's bloody spelled.]
I also sing in certain songs for my friend's "Garage Band", Insomnia.

Though I tend to obsess with my brother's electric guitar.

it got broke, so i stopped playing..
since i don't have anyone who's willing to replace me a new one.. XD

Takabean 02-02-2008 08:10 PM

Well I used to kinda-sorta play the guitar. I just stopped practicing though, it never really interested me :( lol I was only like 9 when I started playing, so I wasnt very good.

and lol ive probably been in like a million bands. Me and my friends have been a band countless times, of course we never actually practiced, or even had the instruments :lol:

katyasha 02-02-2008 10:33 PM

I played the Clarinet back when I was in middle school and went on to play for the U of A marching band for two years and I had to quite due to classes that I had to take during the time band was.

Gamersdreams 02-03-2008 10:57 PM

I played piano for two years and I've been playing violin for three. ^^

steeleheart 02-04-2008 04:22 AM

I play bass guitar, i've always wanted to learn how to play the violin though.

Erathene 02-04-2008 09:11 PM

I used to play allsorts, then I gave it all up for homework :/
My main instruments were Flute and Violin, I taught myself piano when I had time and I also had an Irish whistle which was fun to play =P
I've always wanted to play the cello. But I found carrying around my violin case a pain in the ass, so I would complain even more with a cello D;

Amiiu 02-10-2008 02:38 AM

I started playing the piano when I was five years old [kindergartenish], then at age 7 [first grade], I started playing the violin. I also can play some stuff on some band instruments but it's not a very clear sound. Oh, and when I was 9 or 10 years old, I stopped taking piano lessons in order to concentrate on the violin so after that I started liking the piano much more since I didn't have to practice it ^^;;

Fullmetal Phantom 02-10-2008 05:02 AM

Well...my hand is better, I broke out my synthesizer again...and now I can officially say I play the piano. o_o God only knows how I got BETTER instead of WORSE by dropping it for five years. XD I'm still not GREAT...but hell, I can do it, and it can sound pretty good. That, in my opinion, is what counts.

This makes me want to give the guitar another go. If my hands got good enough for the piano in my non-instrumental time...and that was ALSO my obstacle with the guitar...I think it just might be worth a shot. o_o DAMN.

I wish I could play multiple instruments well, though. I'm probably gonna end up taking up several before I'm 30. XD;

woodzdragon 02-12-2008 07:52 PM

I play violin (School Orchestra).
My sister tried to teach me to play Clarinet. It wasn't too hard, but I haven't practiced in 3 or 4 years. I have an acoustic guitar somewhere that I don't play at all anymore

amyleto 02-13-2008 05:24 AM

I used to play the clarinet back in the day. I gave that up forever ago, though.

Now I play nothing. T_T

Elphey 02-16-2008 08:59 PM

I play the flute and Piccolo.
My new school has a marching band, and you have to be in it to be in normal band, so I never went into band this year...

Rinali Lee 02-17-2008 05:45 PM

*O* Piccolo! I only knew one person who played it, but it sounded really nice. ^^

AngellicDemon 04-19-2008 04:41 PM

I play the piano and the guitar, I've been playing for 7 years.
