Well I noticed there was no Pink Floyd thread out there so I decided to make my own. So lets discuss. Lovem? hatem? Got a favourite song? Talk away :3
personally I love the band, Very unique and one of the best bands ever created, some may not agree but you cannot defy the facts and the sales and the fan base even today

I used to really really love Pink Floyd, but my musical obsessions change every once in a while. I'll probably be back to Pink Floyd by the end of the year.

Love 'em. Who can't relate to, 'there's someone in my head, but it's not me' from time to time? xD My dad loves the older stuff so it majorly rubbed off on me, but it was a friend who got me into them the most years and years ago, when we were still preteens, because she too had grown up on them via her father and knew just about all of their songs ever. @@
Really though, Brain Damage = awesome song, despite a bit of overplaying.

Pink Floyd is my favorite band ever...I have most of their albums and I love their evolution from way back with Piper At the Gates of Dawn all the way through to The Division Bell (which, although it's mostly dedicated to griping at Roger Waters, is one of their most under-rated albums). I love how they could put together entire albums rather than just singles...I can only find one flaw on DSotM (and that's the transition from Us and Them into Any Colour You Like) and The Wall is pretty much amazing, if not utterly depressing.

I love Pink Floyd, they've been among my top favourite bands for years and contrary to what doglover said, my love for them didn't come from my parents. ;]
I had of course heard their most famous songs from time to time but never really thought about them until.. I think about four years ago when my ex taped The Wall for me and sent me. Despite bad quality and Icelandic subtitles, I was hooked, and have been ever since.
I haven't heard a lot of their music though, because somehow I always manage to forget, or have something else I want to buy more. I have The Wall, the record though, and then I have a couple of other records and my brother has The dark side of the moon on CD (of course I stole that and put on my computer).
I've grown a tad tired of the songs from The Wall, because having them on my iPod means that I usually just hear one and one song, and that record is one that you really have to listen to as a whole. Which is why I'm dying to watch The Wall again, I just have to find the time for it.
I think one of my top favourite song of theirs is Echoes. I don't know what it is that makes it wort spending almost 25 minutes listening to it, but there's something about it. Another one is When the tigers broke free, that song makes me feel like nothing else.

Old thread is old! But I just got here, and I don't want to make repeat threads, and I'm also questing, so I want to yak as much as possible.
That said, I used to be a really big Floyd fan. I mostly liked the stuff they did with Syd, altho 'The Wall' is one of my favorite of their albums, and that was way way after.
I don't really like Gilmour-led Floyd that much.

I love Pink Floyd, particularly The Wall. That album has helped me through so much. I've also seen Roger Waters live twice, which was awesome. ^_^

@coconutberry- Lucky lucky. I would love to have seen Waters-era Floyd. I did get to see me some Gilmour during the 'Momentary Lapse' tour tho. We had pretty good seats too- second row balcony.
