I don't really get the point of trying to learn songs in different languages -.-; If I like it, I don't need to be able to sing to it. At least, that is how I think of Japanese songs. Songs in English, for me, it's nice to know what they are saying.

I listen to all sorts of different languages. It's nice to have a wide range of tastes for me.
And I like to know what I'm singing xD
You look silly when you don't know the words to a song and you try to sing it in any language.

In japanese? If I listen to the song over and over again.
And have the lyrics I can sing with it..but if its fast I can't do it. o__o;;
I memorized alot of songs from animes right now but I'm a little off on some parts of it.
Like Bleach,Ouran Host Club,Fruit Baskets, and this song called Mou Sukoshi...Mou Sukoshi :]

I'm trying to sing the OPening to Ghost in the Shell :Stand Alone Complex.
It's in russian by a japanese artist.

Hmm --- for some reason memorizing songs in other languages is very easy for me - it could be because I'm a major in vocal performance and singing is what I do all the time - but even when I was in middle school and learning japanese songs so sing along to - it was easier for me than some. But I don't really know - it just depends on the person - and it depends on how long they've been trying to learn music in other languages. Because I've been doing it for so long, it comes easy to me - but for someone who just starts it's weird sometimes. *shrugs*

I absolutly love singing in Japanese! I don't uderstand it all, but enough to get the point of the song. Sakura Kiss is my favorite to sing.

I don't really have that problem - my memory is very sound-inclined; if I want to memorize a song, I can memorize it after listening to it ONCE. I need to be reading the lyrics to make it stick if it's not in English, Spanish, or Japanese (the three languages I know the best), but I can still do it.

@Teeth: First opening, or second GiG opening? I know both, and I can help you get the lyrics and everything. :3

Just listen to it a few times, then it'll get stuck in your head. Play it a few times in the background while you're surfing the interwebz.

Just trying to memorize the subs//translations is killer. XP I just wanna sing it in japanese when I'm trying to sing it in english.

I find it not so difficult to learn a song in Japanese, but then I went and looked up a pronunciation guide, and use romaji lyrics. I find it much harder to sing in Russian.

Only with Korean & Chinese - those are hard sounds they make.

Japanese is easy with only 5 vowel sounds, similar to spanish.
Then you get ai, ei, ou, ae, which are easy following the vowel sounds
and then you gotta know "su" is usally pronounced as "s" and and double vowel like "atta" is usually pronounced "a-atta" in song. Then again, Japanese have different accents.
