I'm in, as an experiment I think I can do this. I like experiments. It's gonna take some effort though xD
Just one question: What if you don't know, never listened to the song before. Should you ask around about the content before you listen or just don't listen at all? |

Man, you should have a whole lot more songs and artists up on the allowed/not allowed list. XD I think that this would indeed be a challenge. I tend not to like anything that's overly sexual or violent anyway though. I really do not get how people stand that kind of thing. It is hard however, to find music videos that are clean. I listen to a lot of new music all the time and people at work have control of the radio so I would fail this as soon as I got to work.

... I like my music with the sex. But if I had more Disney CDs, I would totally attempt this. Do 'dirty' songs in a foreign language count if you don't know what they're talking about?

My starting date is tomorrow. It's a month to nov 8th, I'm going to that date at least. I wanna see how it goes first before I set a final ending date but 1 month is happening. :D

I can't control the radio in public areas, but I can choose to not listen to radio privatly.

I've already been checking my ipod for songs to delete from there, I don't want to break the rules accidently.:sweat:

Ahh!! Don't delete them unless you have a backup of them!! If you don't have a backup of them, then stick 'em on your computer in a no-touch-until-[enter date] folder!! And lol, that makes sense. :XD I'm gonna have to temporarily ask people not to post linkys to certain types of A/MVs in my one Thread, the one called "Know of any cool A/MVs?", so I don't accidentally break my own rules!! :rofl: |

Good luck to those of you who are doing this! I couldn't make it through. Songs with swearing and sex don't comprise a large portion of my musical library, but they are there and I really like some of them. I would miss them too much! Besides, I like to listen to the radio when I'm in the car with my friends, and can't avoid that stuff on there. :<
I'd be happy to provide suggestions and such, though! c: (Lord of the Rings soundtracks are a ridiculous level of excellent, and work with the rules for this challenge. I am just saying.) |

That's really neat, thanks for sharing! I'm gonna have to give that one a listen. I love that it's based on the book directly.
Howard Shore, the composer for the movie scores, got an Oscar for best original soundtrack for the first and third movies, and the third one got best original song for a song Annie Lennox sang for it. They're definitely worth having a listen to. :) You can find them all on YouTube. I can't choose a favorite song out of them, but this one brightens my day every time I hear. it. ^^ |
