I'm convinced that it's the greatest musical ever, even if it's totally disloyal to the book it's based on. (The book "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" by Gregory Maquire is amazing as well. The book is more meant for adults and it lacks the lighthearted take that the musical has.)
I'm going to see Wicked in March on Broadway on a field trip with my school choir. I'm sad that I never saw the original cast with Idina Menzel (starring as Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West)and Kristen Chenowith (as Glinda the Good Witch of the North), but I hear that the current Elphaba (Stephanie J. Block) is pretty good. x333 I'm so excited!
My favorite songs are "No Good Deed," "No One Mourns the Wicked," "Popular," and "One Short Day".
