YouTube Bans Lady Gaga's Official Account On Multiple Violations | Redmond Pie
Color me not surprised. I've always had this hanging suspicion that she did something wrong in the copyrights section.
But let's be honest, repetition under some degree (wether from someone else, or their own work) is something that happens in most artists' time these days especially, and it works. Just take a look at... oh say Nickelback for a quick and obvious example. How familiar do they sound compared to others, and how much have they changed between their two last albums? Sameface everywhere.
It's kind of a simple formula with most popular artists these days, and it was popular for artists back throughout radio's history too: sound like the trend, and you automatically get listeners. It's only how they do it without getting caught that's the difference. It's really hard to sound different and stick out at the same time, as odd as it sounds. However, people who sound unique do have different tools these days such as the Internet to help, so it's just sticking out a lot more. Therefore, cue the people who say radio sucks.
My point? No matter how "big" the artist is, everything is just a complete circle in some areas, musical trends is one of them.
