YouTube Bans Lady Gaga's Official Account On Multiple Violations | Redmond Pie

Color me not surprised. I've always had this hanging suspicion that she did something wrong in the copyrights section.

But let's be honest, repetition under some degree (wether from someone else, or their own work) is something that happens in most artists' time these days especially, and it works. Just take a look at... oh say Nickelback for a quick and obvious example. How familiar do they sound compared to others, and how much have they changed between their two last albums? Sameface everywhere.

It's kind of a simple formula with most popular artists these days, and it was popular for artists back throughout radio's history too: sound like the trend, and you automatically get listeners. It's only how they do it without getting caught that's the difference. It's really hard to sound different and stick out at the same time, as odd as it sounds. However, people who sound unique do have different tools these days such as the Internet to help, so it's just sticking out a lot more. Therefore, cue the people who say radio sucks.

My point? No matter how "big" the artist is, everything is just a complete circle in some areas, musical trends is one of them.

Is there more than one Gaga account? Because the one I consider her main is still viewable.

Copyright laws apply to everyone. People that get mad over it need to be more educated on why copyright laws are in place. There's a reason why copyright laws are in place. It ticks me off when people get mad at companies because the person that posts that posts the stuff did it illegally. Some people are just ignorant.

You'd think she would have had some rights to the performance since she was in it though. Silly of her management not to take care of that before it was posted.

What does any of that have to do with the article? Her channel wasn't taken down because she was ripping off music or having dubious "similarities" with another artist making the same kind of music. She (her people) posted a performance, that she was in, from a TV show, without obtaining the proper releases to do so. It has nothing at all to do with the rest of the stuff you posted. Did you even read the link?

I think Google/YouTube acted a little rashly. If a normal user had posted one spurious video, it would've been removed and that would've been the end of it. She's racked up a billion legitimate hits, all above board, and there was no real reason for Google/YouTube to behave this way about it.

...but seriously, your post had nothing to do with anything.

I like Lady GAGA because she is not afraid to express herself and be different and I really respect that. :)
