- I haven't seen a thread for this in the catalogue and it's really late so I'm not really looking through the back pages of this.
Anyway a couple of days ago, Donna and I became fangirls of the song "Potential Breakup Song" and we ended up buying the CD (although it is currently in my position and in my DVD player). I wasn't a fan of them when they first appeared onto the scene, and didn't really know who they were. I thought they were Southern or something ((must have been the Cow Belles thing and no I haven't seen that movie)).
But recently I found out Aly was actually Alyson Michalka, the chick who played Keely Teslow on Phil of the Future, then I was like "WHAAAAAT?" when I had to put two and two together.
It's nice to be in the same graduating class as them (no I'm not of their school but I believe they graduated this year didn't they?) buuuuuut anyway, discuss!

I love the Potential Break Up song.
Haven't had a chance to listen to the whole CD, but by chance, I just ran across the song and it had a really good beat, and a first beginning I could somewhat relate to. xD Since my birthday was about a week prior to the first time I heard it.
I thought Margie would be interested and sent her the song. She liked it and decided to buy the CD. :]
Happily ever after.

Is that song the only reason you like them? I've been their fans since before Aly even got on Phil of the Future. I had seen some of her earlier work, and I was a fan then.
So I've supported them ever since, and they still amaze me! They're some of the few who have been able to do well for themselves outside of their Disney contracts!

- LOL no I saw it on Disney Channel but didn't tell you because you didn't like Disney Channel peoples...so then when i found out you liked it (how did you get to it btw?) that's when I went all-out fangirl.
Our shopping trips rock : )
But yes...yourSTUPIDbirthday. Same with Edna I think she likes Aly & AJ too because like she put that in her profile...she's a year and 2 days older than you hahaha.
Next month is MYstupidbirthday and if I get a boyfriend who sucks we can play that.
Right now the DVD player is playing the song known as ...well..."Division" except they use a division sign and not a slash like my keyboard has. I have NO idea what it's about it's like...talking about graduation and then someone else running away from their problems. It's pretty cool though because the only coherent thing I can listen to is "Congratulations, you've graduated" and it's the only part I can relate to WITHOUT reading the lyrics (haven't checked the lyric book yet).
Seiki Nova: I guess so. Is that a problem?

No no, that's fine. I just thought that it was funny, because that's one of the few songs that they've done that I don't like xD

@Margie:
I don't like any of the current disney shows. -.-
But that's another topic in total.
I found it when searching on my limewire, New Music. xD
Because I'd been out of the loop on newer music for a while, I wanted to see if there was anything that looked interesting that I hadn't heard of before.
And I saw that so I decided to check it out.
...check the lyric book smart one. xD

I've only heard two songs from them... but I really like the song "When Chemicals Reacts" or something like that... it's been a while since I listened to their songs... so I can't remember what they're called... ^^;;

I love Insomniac. Especially the Potential Breakup Song. I also own one of their albums, and last year went to a concert of theirs. It was fun.

I love the song "Division." Tried to get Donna to listen to the CD in my car but she just keeps it at "Potential Breakup Song."
Division makes me cry though because like...yeah...I don't pay attention to it and all I hear is "Congratulations, you've graduated," so yeah...kinda emotional there.

Ooh, I LOVE Aly and AJ! They're beautiful, and really incredibly talented. Their music is awesome, their videos are cute and cool, and...well, I just love them. ^^
My favorite songs of theirs are "Rush" and "Division," among many others. And I love "Tears." It sounds like some sort of Celtic chant or something, don't you think?

I first found them while I was working at Disney. They were playing on a big-screen wall television. They were singing "Do You Believe in Magic?" Since it was a familiar oldie, I was kind of like, "Aw, it's just a remake. Too bad, because they're good!" But later I discovered they do write their own material, as well! So I'm a bigger fan. Heh.

"Potential Breakup Song" is my get-up-and-dance-in-my0underwear song.
I think they're amazingly talented although I have not heard their CD.

You know...at first I thought I'd hate them because they seemed like demon spawn from the Disney Channel. But their first few songs were actually pretty catchy.
Although at the time I'd never have admitted to ever listening to them.
Then 'Insomniatic' came out...and I gave it a listen for some unknown reason, to this day I still don't remember. I think it was because I saw the video for "Potential Break-up Song" At like 5am and wanted to hear it again. So I got the album...I listen to the songs...some it took me a while to like, but there was one I fell absolutely in love with the very first time I heard it. And that song is 'Silence'
It's a slow love-type song...but the first time I heard it, I cried. Because I've felt that way before...like, you want to see someone, but you're afraid of what they might say...and sometimes silence really is everything.
Quote:
Wait a minute, I have more to say,
and I care if you're listening to me.
I need you, more than you'll ever know,
I still do, I'm willing to let it show.
I need a minute just to get to you,
I...feel like I might be getting through.
Come over and say nothing...
Silence is everything...
|
It's such an amazing song.
