This is probably going to sound rude.. but I'm honestly not shocked in the slightest.

Not so rude. I think most ppl aren't overly shocked. Still. All lives mean something, and she WAS talented, even if her partying was out of control.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. It doesn't help that the only song I remember from her is "Rehab" either. Now, I don't pay attention to what celebrities are up to - I don't care - but looking back at the lyrics, it's obvious she was going through tough times. Maybe she really didn't need to go to rehab when she wrote that song, but she was certainly on the road to addiction.

Quote:
I said, "I got no idea
I'm gonna, I'm gonna lose my baby
Quote:
I don't ever wanna drink again
I just, ooh, I just need a friend
Maybe if someone had sympathized with her instead of criticized her they could have worked out their problems together to get to "OK" instead of turning to their drug of choice for comfort. Maybe if someone had pretty much forced their way into her life to watch after her, she would have slowed down. Maybe... Maybe... Maybe...

I didn't know her, so I don't what she went through before, during, and after everything went to shit, but it's sad that someone so talented couldn't find something to connect themselves to this planet for. Something to make her want to get better, to find Happiness.

Addictions don't take away humanity. When I look at addicts, I feel sorry for them. I mean, they're humans. How could I not pity them? I'm too soft though. I didn't like her music, personally, but still. She was too young to die. I pray that her family is doing alright. =(
