Okay, I thought up a possibly fun idea. I figured that this would be a good way for everyone to relate to music and earn a bit of gold at the same time.

Here are the rules:
1) Reply to the above poster's song of choice with:

• What you thought of it. Did you like it or did you not?
• If you have never heard the song above, try youtube so you can experience it. I also reccomend Last.fm
• Do some research: google the lyrics to that song and pick out a part of the lyrics which appeals to you the most. If none of it appeals to you or catches your attention, then just say so. (if the song has no lyrics, then just tell how you reacted to it) **Reminder** Be sure to quote lyrics! Thanks for the tip, Howdy.

2) After step 1, give the title and artist of either:

• a song which appeals to you right now
• the song you are currently listening to

3) Thirdly, tell why you like or do not like that song.

This will be similar to the 'what are you listening to' thread except it applies to the song which the above poster brings up.

Please do not try to cut corners and leave something unanswered. ^^;

I will start the chain with this opening post.
I hope that this idea will work as it will require some thinking and it may possibly broaden some musical horizons.

I like this song because it has a nice bubbly beat and the vocalist's voice soothes me. It also is the type of song which would cheer me up during a gloomy day.

Also a reminder to anyone who'd like to post lyrics to remember that they must be put within quote tabs.

I absolutely love Tidal (it's one of my favorite's from Imogen's new album), and I've been listening to it a lot lately. It's really beautiful and soothing to listen to. I think my favorite lyric from the song is:

Do it for England, do it for love, do it for us, do it for all the times we wished we'd had

The song I've been obsessed with lately is: Last Night by Motion City Soundtrack. I love the lead singer's voice, the story the song tells and the beat of the song. I'm totally captivated by it and it's the only song I've never skipped when listening to.

I've never been a huge Motion City Soundtrack fan, but I liked that song (Last Night). It was very pretty, and kind of bouncy in a way. The lyrics seemed to be a little dissonant from the music, but somehow, it managed to work. And on a personal level, I related to the talk of panic.

I really liked this part:

My body aches, it heaves, it shakes
All somersaults through so-called art
And I still don't know exactly who I am
I never will, amen.

I like the song because the lead singer's voice is very unique, which is one thing that I really like in a band. That's not to mention the music itself -- very indie, and I'm a sucker for synthesizers.
