Local Band Recommendations?

For me, I love Taproot. They have more of a metal sound on some of their songs where as other songs lean more towards general rock music. They're really sweet guys as well. TR's MySpace Here

I also love Ashes of Soma who are a great local band from Canada. Their music has a lot of energy as does their live shows. AOS MySpace Here

Does anyone else have any local music from where they live that they would recommend?

For me, a local band that I love is The Side. I heard about them this summer when they did a theme tune for our local football team when they made it into the Scottish Cup Final. OK....our team lost, but their music is still awesome.

They've actually become quite popular now, but theres a band called 'One Bad Son' that originated as a local band in my city. Now they're actually traveling across Canada doing tours ^.^ It's really exhilarating knowing that they're getting famous and where born in the same city as you...

I heard of "One bad Son" before but only heard a clip of one of their songs. They're not too bad either.

I've been paying more attention to my local bands lately so it's funny to see this thread. I'm really into two bands in particular named Hell Within and Thurkills Vision though a few of my other favorites include Prospect Hill, Santa Gata, Mindset X, and Knightstorm.

Well, local bands around my area, within the confines of the music i listen to. Would be Excruciator, and Spellcaster. Haven't met the guys from Spellcaster, but i know the guys from Excruciator personally, and they are the coolest, funniest guys on this planet. And they thrash like nothing you've ever seen before.
