Warning: Unrestrained Audiophile

I am an audiophile, meaning I love sounds, more specifically music. I pretty much need to be surrounded by sound of some sort or I'll go nuts. I have music on at a constant and I know there are songs that define the way I feel nearly every time I feel them, and there are songs or a type of music I'll play when I'm in "a mood". There are also many that link back to strong memories, good and bad. Music really ties into the life of most people, I've found.
So, my spoons questions for you all:
Are there songs that strongly sway your emotions?
What songs are powerful to you? How?
Why do they make you feel like this? The lyrics? The instruments, the beat?
What kind of music do you prefer for each of your moods?
I'd love for this to be more of a discussion than a quiz, but feel free to just answer the questions. Oh, and you are more than welcome to link to songs! I adore listening to new things.

I listen to Spotify on a regular basis and I have this app that chooses music depending on what I'm feeling.
It's actually really cool. Currently I'm happy, so it's playing Lady GaGa and lots of party music.
Sometimes when I listen to things with a fast beat or lots of bass I'll get up and dance to it and get my exercise. Since I'm a dancer I don't really listen to anything sad or slow unless I'm doing ballet.
Songs that really speak to me is indie music. I like the lyrics and the sound is always really unique. It's also the kind of music I write, so it's where I get some ideas.
When I'm upset, I listen to hardcore music, but nothing too screamo or anything like that.
When I'm happy I listen to pretty much anything.
When I'm sad I listen to sad music, but that's probably not very smart.
When I'm -cough- high >.> I listen to lots of dubstep. I listen to dubstep almost every day though, so I don't think being high classifies that too much.

Hahah. I remembered my habit in the shower. I always want the faucet open, pouring water. I like the noise/sound of the pouring water. Makes me feel accompanied. LOL. Haha. With the TV, too. I want it turned on, even though I'm not actually watching. I usually do that when I'm home and doing some household chores.
Are there songs that strongly sway your emotions?
Yes. Fix You by Coldplay, Goodbye Girl by Bread, Only Time by Enya and I Love Rock 'N Roll by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts (makes me feel funky and alive, hahaha).
What songs are powerful to you? How?
Mostly ballads, It's All Coming Back To Me by Celine Dion is one. The music is just stunning for me and trembles me.
What kind of music do you prefer for each of your moods?
Happy: Domino by Jessie J or Waking Up In Vegas by Katy Perry
Sad: Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy
Angry: Fire Like This by Hardknox
Rocking (lol): Misery Business by Paramore and I Love Rock 'N Roll by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts
Nostalgic: Goodbye Girl by Bread
Calm: Only Time by Enya

I find that there are many ways to convey a feeling, whether just by instrument or by voice.
The softer, sad songs makes me feel things. I've felt sadness from Chopin to Hurt by Johnny Cash. Really good music from anywhere can do that when you're in any mood.
