Most of the Japanese songs I've heard of have been opening or ending theme songs from anime series.

Recently I watched the Studio Ghibli anime Arrietty and I really like the song that was played during the ending credits. It's a gentle song, but it's nice.

Of anime I've watched recently I also like Durarara theme songs and the first opening and ending theme for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Oh, and speaking of opening themes, I always thought that Tenjho Tenge had one of the best openings, animation and music wise. And it's unusual for me to still have an impression of it since I never really watched the anime.

So what anime has awesome theme songs?

once you get past the actual images, the style of the To-Love-Ru Season 1 theme was great. And it's one hell of an Ear Worm.

I looove the ONE PIECE openings and the first Soul Eater opening "This is Halloween!"

Ahhh Sakura Kiss is really an addictive song :)

I cant remember much at the moment. Usually when I like the anime, I would like the song. But some of the songs of animes I did not watch include ... at the top of my head:

- Nanka Shiawase (Flame of Recca)
- No Surrender (Weiss Kreuz)
- Tonari no totoro (Totoro)
- Take Off (Ao no exorcist)
- All Kirarin Revolution songs
- Shugo Chara songs

I agree with the opening for Ouran High School Host Club. When I first watched the opening before finishing the first episode I thought it was a shonen-ai fanservice because it seemed like all the characters they were depicting were pretty boys. But that just made the ending to the first episode all that much better, especially being my first exposure to Ouran High School Host Club.

The videoclip is pretty adorable too actually. I think the anime makes you more obssessed with the song because you hear it throughout the anime even in between scenes when an orchestra version plays :)

Yes completley!!!!!!!

Well. More anime. The CANAAN opening is damn good. Mind As Judgement, if you feel like going to look it up.

Highschool of the Dead Opening is good too. Along with the Sora no Otoshimono/Heavens lost property opening.

And the Lucky Star opening. Once you learn to keep up with it, it's so damn catchy, You can't help but like it.

Lucky Star opening!!! That's right... motteke sailor fuku! Trying to sing it without stopping would seem like you are on drugs or something XD Its one of those songs you either really love or really hate! I don't think you can be indifferent towards it XD

Then there is the other song, Hamatte sabotte Oh my god or something along that lines that's pretty catchy too and less drug like :P

But yeah, trying to sing these songs while maintaining their voice pitch is pretty fun!

I'm never trying the voice pitch, but I know and can sing along to almost every word of it. I scare me.

You DO scare me! I think even with the lyrics I can barely catch up with what they are saying... O.O

After a while of listening to it, I managed to pick up on it, Probably helps that I talk fast anyway.

I love the songs Kesenai Tsumi and Ready Steady Go from Full Metal Alchemist, The opening from Elfin Lied, the first Opening from Strawberry Panic, and the ending for the anime Betterman. And for some reason, I love the opening for Tsukuyomi Moonphase, despite how annoying and misleading it is. xD

One thing about this song I really like how the singer sings and how relaxing it is to listen to it. Makes me love ghost in the shell more then ever.

and some initial D intros as well, but I can never remember what any of them are called..

I think Initial D has a pretty good soundtrack. Even though I'm not entirely sure what genre of music it would be considered.

I love Ready Steady Go! I pratically love all the FMA and FMAB songs! :3

I like Monochrome No Kiss from Kuroshitsuji, and songs like it, but for some reason, The Party Must Go On by T.M.Revolution gets stuck in my head.

Oh my gosh, when I think / hear Sakura Kiss, it gets stuck in my head so bad
I actually have watched the first season of OHSHC! *fist pump*

I don't really watch anime, but I'm familiar with a lot of openings / endings because I'm a fan of
and/or know of the groups who release singles for them. Like Shugo Chara, Kirarin Revolution, etc.

I love the whole soundtrack of .hack//sign, Noir, Weiss Kreuz, and Appleseed. I'm sure I love others but that's what I can think off the top of my head without looking at my playlist lol!

I pretty much like majority of endings/openings of FMA, especially the last ending with Asian Kung Fu Generation's Rewrite. Too catchy. EVERY single song from Samurai Champloo, I absolutely adore Nujabes (RIP) Tsuchie, Fat Jon. The soundtrack is incredible. Trigun's opening is awesome, and even though I don't like Soul Eater much at all I really dig the first ending.

I recently watched AnoHana and I really like the ending theme. It's a nice song that's not overly cutesy or depressing and suited the mood of the anime well.
