Prologue-

This world is a doomed one, Unknown to the masses there are threats from the void,the void is
a place where things which shouldn't exist does, I seek out the truth and i am trying to create
a theory of how this world works and the mysterious powers which have come from it, you could
call me a researcher, I am a listener, I am a watcher, I am a learner.
I want to understand everything but I cannot move from my prison, for I am trapped in my mortal
body unable to move from this chair i am sat upon this room is rather dull and dark there is a
fireplace illuminating a bit of this room, not many people enter this room and so I am given time
to think about everything,but to understand this world I need to leave this prison.

I shall write down all I have learnt from listening to what one woman who has looked after me
while in my non moving state has told me.

The power of this world is Aura a form of magic dispensed by a reaction within the soul
invisible to normal people it is dispensed by everyone but in weak quantities though
you can do things which thought impossible like...lets say writing a research paper without
lifting a finger.

Now Aura is something which used to be dormant but it awakened due to the new threats to this world
I shall write these threats down.

Shades- These are the main threat to the people of this world these can range in any size and
there is a legend that there is one bigger than this planet, many don't believe this but I do.
The shades are basically a form of Aura which has no body, they kill using methods one partically
gruesome method is by solidifying there Aura body's to cut through human flesh another well known
method is stopping the human soul creating its own Aura by "posessing the human",these creatures
are invisible to a human but can be seen by some people with high Aura ability, and if you can
see the Shade then you just need to locate its soul dispensing the Aura and then you can destroy it.

Shades actually came from our world because they use Aura to keep themselves alive but those from the Void
are different.

Shards- The "Foot soldiers" of the void creatures they are seen as a floating shard of a mask with a ghostly
shape, now the power obviously comes from the shard but the shard can only be damaged by an Aura attack
and destroying the shard brings more trouble because it gathers with other destroyed shards.

Halves- These are the gathered form of shards and they always come in a pair they of course each
sport half a mask as the name suggests, you can begin to see the true form more clearly than before
in this form and if both Halves are successfully defeated you will be able to see the true form of these
creatures.

Wholes- The strongest a void creature can be its true form, these creatures are actually mortal so they can be destroyed in any way you wish, but they do show emotion and can be completely unpredictable.
This interests me greatly.

Unlike Shades Void creatures can be seen by Human eyes and need to be dealt with extreme care.

Now of course i will explain the Aura users set to protect this crumbling world.

Guardians- A community of people who use Aura to protect those who need protection, founded by someone close to me who lost her family to a powerful shade, they took me in and are the ones wholook after me. They also have split into two groups The Devils and The Angels which work together to help maintain the peace.

The Devils- The name is a deter to this group but they are actually the main protection in the guardians, they seek power to be able to live. They normally use a weapon formed from the Aura they dispense

The Angels- They study Aura to learn new powers, they enjoy being able to get a group of Shades into a Aura trap which is a form of Aura magic which can't be explained, even by those who use it.
They seek control and rarely use an Aura formed weapon.

To understand this world more I need to be able to escape my prison, I will be the one to explain the unexplained and bring an end to the Void creatures and the Shades.

Chapter 1- Him

This story is about a boy named Kai and his adventures in the world of Aura and how he figured out how
the world works and the truth which only gods should know.But for now i shall introduce to you his
'Mother'. Her names is Skie and adopted Kai when he his parents were killed and he lost his power to
move any of his muscles, she was always kind and even though she is young as an adoptive mother she
has a strong maternal instinct, she currently lives in the guardian mansion with her adopted son
her rent is paid by the owner of the mansion and leader of the guardians, as time slowly edges itself
to the hour of doom she lives alongside the Angels and Demons who want to hire her into their groups
because of her high Aura ability, it was a lazy monday morning in which this story begins.

Skie stood staring at the schedule for the household chores "Geez, why do i have to do the dishes every weekend
thats my only time to relax." she then heard a mischevous laugh coming from behind her she turned around and frowned.
"Ren, care to explain this?" from the shadows came a very young girl who despite her age was
incredibly wise, she had blonde hair down to her shoulders and was very thin, her eyes faded as if she
was an old woman, she yawned and stretched a bit.
"Well you spend most of the week with my brother catering him to his every needs and you always complain
you don't have time to do your chores, and since i cant change the schedule you have with my brother
I decided to move your chores into your spare time." Ren walked up to Skie and gave her a serious look.
"What you really need to worry about is earning money to survive, you know I am already tied up with
the guardians about this whole ordeal, they have even suggested leaving him to die." Skie sighed it wasn't the first time she heard this suggestion far too many times.
"You know if i hear that suggestion one more time im gonna..." Skie of course froze for a moment, she had forgotten that Ren was still only a child no matter how powerful she was, she didn't need to know the details of what was going to happen to the person who would unluckily be the man to suggest the stupid.

There was an akward silence between the two and most people could sense it wasn't smart to get involved
like one cowardly Demon recruiter who thought he could try to convince Skie to join the Demons he of course
noticed now wasn't the right time and he fled, there of course was one man who is to dense to notice anything like that.
"Yo Skie." The dull tone to the voice was a perfect fit to the speaker.
He was a truly boring man with a blank stare even his hair was a dull greyish blonde, it was as if he was permanantly drugged and would make you wonder what would happen if he did take drugs...that would be an interesting situation.

Sorry i got carried away, back to the story.
Skie was obviously peeved that someone would simply butt in to her akward silence, unknowing of who it was, she pulled a very rude look.
"Why do you think you can butt into this conversation and not get in trouble for stopping a serious chat about someones futureee...err." She had just noticed who she was shouting at and of course she couldn't take it back.
The man replied dully "Well a good afternoon to you too Skie, you know if you want lunch you better go now since im paying."Skie was choking her reply out while Ren just smirked and walked up to the man and went up on her tiptoes to knock him on the head.
"Come on lets go Yone, i'll pay for the three of us."
Yone nodded and followed Ren to the cafeteria.

The mansion in which the guardians live is a very big one, it was a mansion once owned by Ren's parents who died fatefully froma particularly strong Shade. this Estate has everything one would need to live, a cafeteria, 5 living quarters and many bedrooms Ren started the guardians alone and other people who gained Aura abilities just seem to gather and live at that place, Ren was made the leader of the guardians at the age of 9 and she is now only 14 years old, she understands her position and tries her best to keep everything in order and be able to protect the one she relies on the most, joining the Angels or Demons is a paid job to help those survive in this world, but if you don't join either it is like being unemployed.
Yone and Skie haven't joined either but their reason's are completely different.
Skie wouldn't join because both guardians believe her son is completely useless and shouldn't live, so she abandoned the idea of joining them.
Yone's excuse is his lazyness though not many people believe that excuse since he is the most powerful in the mansion,this has prompted many rumours which are blatantly not true.

Ren, Skie and Yone walked out of the lunchroom both Skie and Ren looked satiated, Yone on the other hand looked tired.
Ren looked at the two of them "Im surprised to see you two say no to about 20 recruiters in one sitting, I thought you would have been worn down by the 10th one"
Skie giggled "Oh, if they become too pushy I get Yone to stare at them, no one likes obsessive eye contact especially if the guy staring can turn you inside out with a teaspoon."
Yone looked up "Good times..."
He then looked at the two and their shocked faces at this calm reaction, Skie sighed.
"I shouldn't have brought that up, I still feel sorry for that guy even if he was mugging me."
another akward silence hit the group, only to once again be interrupted by someone calling.
A black tom cat with short fur went up and began to meow at the group, Skie looked down at the young kit
"Oh, hi Aki im guessing the reason your here is because Kai needs to be fed right?"
Aki meowed in a cheerful way as if to say "You are correct."

Kai, the boy who witnessed his own parents death was apparantly physically and emotionally scarred from the event he became sickly thin and it looked as if he couldn't move because he had no muscle to use,people believed he was dead or better off dead because no one could see any Aura being produced by his soul, but even against the other guardians advice Ren and Skie kept him alive, his eyes always open watching people walk in and out on his chair sat in front a fireplace, no one is even sure if he was watching with his never blinking eyes, Ren and Skie always believed he was watching them, he was always a learner.

The four entered the room the only welcome they got was the crackle of the fireplace which was almost burnt out.
"Hello Kai, look your sister is here today isn't that great?"
He looked as that was all he could do,Ren kept on staring at him but pulled herself away and looked at the fireplace.
"Where is the person who is suppose to maintain that fire? Do I have to do all this stuff by myself."
She quietly hummed to herself as she went to get the poker.
Skie smiled and sighed.
"Well lets get you fed then, Yone the foods is in a refigerated compartment next to the fireplace."
Yone looked at her with his dull look.
"Am I allowed to ask why the food is so secretively hidden?"
"Its to make sure that Kai's personal guard doesn't steal the food."
Everyone fell silent, no one really liked the guy.
"Grim, isn't he also supposed to have maintained this fire?"
"I guess so M'lady, I suppose I was trying to freeze the poor sucker to death."
The man was there hiding in the corner listening to everything they were saying.
Ren went up to him and pulled him eye level to her she was still holding the poker which has aimed at his eye.
"Grim don't joke like that, you were Kai's closest friend he is hurt by what your saying!"
"Whoa, he isn't hurt he's a bloody potato and we all know it."
Grim was smirking at Ren showing a familiar scent.
"Your drunk."
"What makes you say that M'lady? Im truly hurt by that!"
He started laughing and pulled himself of Ren and moved himself up to Kai.
"Aww poor thing you look like your suffering how about I end your life with my sword, it will be simple and quick."
Yone calmly walked up to Grim and drew a blade as if from nowhere and put it up to Grims neck so he could read the inscription
'He who hesitates is lost' Grim began to drop his blade and Yone removed the sword from Grim.
Grim turned and headed for the door Aki went up to him and started hissing.
"Get away you stupid pest!"
Grim kicked Aki across the room Ren ran over to where Aki landed.
Yone threw his sword to the wall right next to Grim as if to say I could of taken off your head for that.
Grim left.

Skie was still in partial shock at what happened she tried to gather herself.
"Look, we don't need Grim, we have Aki if Kai needs anything Aki could..."
"Skie." Yone gave Skie a stern look
They both looked at Ren who was crying while hugging Aki
"Aki's dead."
