i was writing this story, im a total vampire freak so it involves all of my favorite supernatural creatures. i was wondering if i should keep writing- i've got a good 20 pages already-my muse is gone and i don't want to mke this another half finished project that i spend all my time on and then leave in the back of a folder.

I'll keep posting more of the story, so keep checking back!

I desperately wanted to write something, anything, but I could'nt find the right idea. The blank page was taunting me with its emptyness. It reminded me of the countless other times i tried to find something interesting to write. Having blank, lined paper in my notebook, it brings down my self esteem drastically, it makes me feel like those people at my school who detest everything about the institution, and hardly bring themselves to school, let alone pencil and paper.

I tapped my pencil nervously, looking at the clock, hoping it would stop indefinitely until I found my muse. Another second ticked by. Trecherous clock.

"Miss Archer?" my teacher snapped. I suddenly realized I was still in my english literature class, and Mrs. Tristan was glaring at me in that strange, yet utterly creepy, down-her-nose fashion.

"Uhhhh....." was all I could manage, she scared every natural reaction right out of me with her snake eyes, and i felt, un-nervingly, like her prey.

I was right.

" The answer to my question, please, Miss Archer?"

I suddenly felt nausea knotting up in the pit of my stomach. then, the bell rang. I felt bad for calling the clock trecherous before, but at least it was more on my side than Mrs. Tristan, for the moment.

"Miss Archer? Miss Archer!" Mrs. Tristan screeched after me with her feline-like hiss. I pretended not to hear her-knowing it would bring me consequences later- as I scooped my books into my arms and slung my bag over my shoulder. I scurried like a mouse out the door, hidden under the wave of students just as eager to escape the clutches of the 'Rhymes-With-Witch' of Chesterfield High.

I ducked behind a group of chattering cheerleaders passing by the door, when i looked back and saw that Mrs. Trlistan had pushed through the crowd of exiting teens to pull a 'Track and Destoy' on me. I quickly turned down the senior hallway, the one place the freshman mark on my cheek would not let me stay. Others quickly noticed me, but when they saw Mrs. Tristan, they looked at eachother instead. One of the senior boys grabbed my elbow suddenly and led me into a classroom.

"You can hide here," he said," There's an exit to the gym area behind that chalk board. It's fifth period, so ask the tennis team for 'Twitch' They'll know what you mean."

I hardly understood his directions, but I obeyed. It was nice to know that I wasn't the only one that tristan had hunted, and I needed all the help I could get.

I walked into the classroom and looked in the direction of the chalk board. there was a teacher in front of it, scribbling down complicated algebra equations. He turned towards me and said,"Tristan?"
When I nodded, he quickly flipped the chalk board over to the blank side. Taped to the top, right corner was an old key, the kind you actually have to stick inside a lock. He ripped the ley from its hiding place and pushed ther chalk board to the side, revealing a perfectly hidden wood door.

The door was old, like the key that belonged to it, it didn't have a key card lock or eye scanner like the other doors on classrooms and bathrooms. I knew at once that more than one teacher like Mrs. Tristan had existed, and countless generations of students had used this door to escape from their tormenting mentors.

"I suppose Jace told you what to do?" the teacher asked

"who?"

"The young man that led you in here."

"Oh, yeah, he said to-"

"don't worry about telling it to me," he held the door open for me "tell it to the tennis team.'

right i thought, like im usually brave enough to face the varsity tennis team by myself. No, this was different. I had to be brave if I wanted to live to see lunch. Mrs. Tristan was after me and i had to do everything I could to stay away from her, to avoid her famous 'you-will-never-ammount-to-anything' brainwash.

i approached the tennis courts and immediately almost got hit with a ball. It was a defense reaction, half the girls on the team had some sort of animal traits grafted onto their DNA, along with the superpowes they were granted. I couldn't blame them for attacking me, I was a stranger invading their space, territory rather.

i recognized their leader, the captain of the team, she was famous at chesterfield for bringing the team to four championships in a row when she joined her freshman year. I immediately respected her.

"what do you want?" she said coldly, crossing her arms while still holding on to her racket, as a weapon i guess.

"I'm looking for twitch." It sounded more like a question, but i got a reaction, not just from the captain, but from the whole team. She snatched my face in one of her french-manicured hands and spoke through her teeth.

" Are you stupid? Keep it zipped, we don't want coach to hear!" she hissed in a feline way, just like Mrs. Tristan," who sent you?"

"Jace," I said recalling the name that the strange teacher had used for the boy.

"figures," she hissed, loosening her grip on my jaw just enough to get the blood flowing in it again,"He's always playing the hero for tristans victims." she gave me an acid stare, and pushed my face away.

"I didn't ask him to help me, he just did." I said rubbing my jaw.

"you mean you just waltzed down the senior hallway and he picked you out of a crowd?"

"that's exactly what i mean."

" Are you suicidal?"

"If commiting a figurative suicide means getting away from a maniac, then yes, I am."I said,
" so what am I supposed to see?" I folded my arms across my chest like I wasn't afraid of her, I am a really good liar apparently.

"What's your name freashman?" she said looking at the mark on mys cheek.

"Nomi Archer," I said,"and I'm not a freshman, i've been going here for three years, technically you would call that a junior."

"So why do you have freshman markings?"

"I started early."

"well, Nomi, I'm Carlise Bradshaw, but everyone just calls me carly. This is Violet Youngblood, Kirsty Bates, and Monique Cross." she said referring to the three girls standing defensively behind her.

"Mo," monique said," and if you call me anything else, i'll rip your spine out." she was obviously the one with anger issues.

"Easy tiger," carly said, putting a clawed hand on Mo's shoulder, "She's going to be one of us."

Mo looked annoyed, but backed away in submission to her leader.

"follow me," carly said cooly. I obeyed, my respect for her authority was getting deeper and deeper, like i was slowly stepping into the ocean.

she pulled a wide red ribbon out of her pocket,"I hope you don't mind, we like to keep our location a secret, just until you are initiated."

"why not just turn off my V.E.G's" I said, pointing to the vision enhancement goggles I had to wear,"Im blind as a bat otherwise."

"we like to do things the old-fashioned way." carly said

"besides, some people wear those just for show," violet added, staring at me warily.

"don't worry, vai," Kirsty, who was holding onto my left elbow, said cheerily,"she has no idea what you are talking about." great. a kid with ESP, i just absolutely love when my thoughts are public. just like i love walking around in my underwear!

Hmm... I think it has something going for it. Could use a bit more capitalization, but I think it has serious potential. I really like it.
