Advice Please

I am writing a 10 page research paper and I would like to know if there are any guide lines that should be followed. I have never wrote a 10 page paper before.

I know about the basic of writing five paragraph essay, is a 10 page research paper similar to it or not?

Sorry if its in the wrong forum.

This really depends on the teacher. I suggest asking her/him for guidelines before asking the world.

Speaking in very general terms, there are typically two ways you can take formatting: MLA and ALA. (You can look up the guidelines for both online.)
As far as individual paragraphs, I tend to treat all body paragraphs the same. The biggest difference between the five-paragraph essay and a longer paper is that you need to have more to discuss. Try not too get to repetitive.

Other than that, just ask your teacher/professor, check your syllabus (if you have one for the class), and the librarians. If you happen to have any kind of writing center at your school, that would be a good place to check as well.

If absolutly none of these places have any guidelines for you (which I highly doubt will happen) I suggest going with MLA. MLA is more commonly accepted for papers on literature where as ALA tends to be for more technical papers.

Good luck with it.
