The Guardian

This is just a story that I have been working on lately. I was just hoping that someone can read it over and tell me how it is. Thank you.

The Guardian

Chapter One

I watched as the scene played before me down below. Demons clouded the young mans mind, telling him to commit suicide. The thing that bothers me the most was the amount of demons that were surrounding him. There has to be at least ten of them. At most there are two or three that go at a person, but never ten. Then the young man’s face starts to contort in horror as he realized what they were doing to him. He started to wiggle to break free! Who could a human have enough power to fight a hoard of demon magic?
The demons finally had the boy at the edge of the street. Further down the street a semi was racing towards him. The demons were going to have him in front of that semi. I jumped off my bike without thinking and raced down the hill. The demons notice my coming and pushed him out on to the road. I wasn’t going to make it like this. The rush of my wing ripping out of my back came soon. I gathered speed, reaching out; I gathered the boy into my arms and passed just as the speeding semi went racing by.
As soon as we hit the ground on the other side I pulled my wings back in to keep from damaging them. I crawled back up tot my feet and looked down at the guy I just saved. He was nothing real special. Fifteen maybe even sixteen with black, obviously dyed, hair, sort of long for a boy, pale skin, and he wore rather baggy black clothes, it was hard to tell if he had any muscle or not.
His eyes started to crack open; I took that as my signal to leave. As I walked away noticed that the demons from earlier were gone. I was about to cross the street when I started to hear someone speak to me. “Hey! Who are you?” I stopped and turned to him in surprise. “Are you the angel that saved me?” He asked.
“I’m no angel kid.” I said stone like. No mortal was supposed to be able to see creatures like me. That must be why so many demons were trying to kill him. “How are you able to see me?” I walked up to him.
“What do you mean?” He asks. He stumbles as he tries to stand. Once he got his balance he started to fall back again. I rushed forward and caught him before he fell.
“You should be more careful.” I said as I steadied him. “You were almost killed.
“Will you stop calling me kid, I’m eighteen!” He yelled in anger. He was much older then I thought he was.
“Whatever you say.” I said to him.
“So what were those things that attacked me?” He asked.
“Those were called demons.” I said shortly.
“But they look exactly like humans.” He said.
“Of course, that’s what makes the more dangerous.” I turned around and started to walk in the direction of my motorcycle. I then noticed that the kid wasn’t following me. “Hey, you coming or not?” I said shortly.
“What? Why? Where are we going?” He asked with worry.
“Up over there to my bike, so I can take you home.” I said slightly annoyed.
“Why?” He asks again.
Is this kid seriously eighteen? “Because if I leave you here alone there is a good chance that those demons will come back and finish the job.” I growled out. He realized I was right and rushed up to me and walked beside me.
As we ascended the hill he started to talk again. “My names Matt Devi, what’s your name?” He asked.
“Don’t worry about my name.” I reached my bike and tossed my extra helmet to him. “Put that on.” I pulled my own on and sat down waiting for him to get on. When he didn’t I turned to see him looking at me expectantly. “Its Silvia ok, now get on.” I sighed. He got on and I sped off at 60 mph on the 30 mph street.
“Don’t you think you’re going to fast?” I heard him yell over the engine.
“No!” I yelled back and sped faster. I snickered as I felt his grip around my waist tighten. “Hey, kid! Where to you live?”
“At the end of Porter Drive!” He tightened his grip even more when I made a sharp turn down his street. Flowing down the street I started to slow down and turned into a driveway of a yellow painted house. “I believe this is it.” I told him.
“Yeah, thanks.” He said as he slowly got off.
“Now watch out, I might not be there the nest time those demons decide to kill you. Best thing for you to do is stay inside and come out unless it is necessary.” I started to back my bike up and out of the driveway.
“Thanks for saving me earlier.” He said quietly.
“No problem kid.” I speed off ignoring the yells I got from him saying he’s not a kid. That Matt guy has a strong power that surrounds him. The power he held flowed into me in a way. I’ll need to keep a close eye on him.
