Having troubles with the middle...
I have a story that I have been working on for about five years now. I know I should be finished with it already or I should just give up, but I really like the ending plot. I'm just having a bit of trouble taking what I have written and getting it to the ending.
So I guess my question is, does anyone have a suggestion as to how I would move this story along? I'm willing to let people read what I have so far, if they need or want to. |
Skip the middle and write the ending. There's no rule saying you have to write the entire thing beginning to end. You'll probably get inspired with what to fill the middle with.

I've never been able to write a whole thing through, and if I got stuck and couldn't move forward in the past, I would always lose interest and give up....Until a friend told me the same advice one day. It was like a light went off, lol. Now I skip around like crazy - write in the scenes that I'm most interested in first, then string 'em together. It's fun to do, and you'll find that your second round through there's a lot you'll change from the begining of your story! XD |
Lol, well, I almost lost interest about 4 years ago after having 3 chapters and the prologue written.
But a friend of mine read what I had and told me I should post it, so I did. Because of the feedback I've gotten on it, I've become really interested in finishing it. Not only for my already growing fan base, but because I hated reading stories that I really liked online just to get to the part where the author stopped writing. Lol And because I REALLY like my ending. And when I re-read what I have written so far, it's like reading a whole new book. I forget what I wrote or don't remember changing things. So yeah, it's fun for me >.< lol Sorry, I really didn't mean to ramble >.< I'm just really excited today for some reason. So thank you again for the advice. I'm finishing up Ch. 9 now then working on the end. ^.^ ---------- Oh, do you mind if I add you as a friend? |
