Behind Blue Eyes
 

Ashur hummed quietly to himself as he straightened up the apartment. Re-aligning the already straight magazines on the coffee table, re-sweeping the carpet every half- hour. He dusted and washed, sprinkled and sparkled, leaving cleanliness wherever he went.
Ezra watched from his perch in the couch- window, a Shakespeare novel in his hands, his glasses on the very edge of his nose as he looked over them at his brother; amusement tugging on his lips.
Quinn, though, was getting aggravated. Today alone, Ashur had swept approximately thirteen times, dusted ten, re- aligned the magazines twenty, cleaned and glossed the coffee table four, re-washed the already spotless dishes twice, cleaned the T.V. nine, and mopped the kitchen floor five. He'd even cleaned Quinn's room! It had taken him about three hours to do, but he cleaned it spotless. Ezra's room had even been given a once over by the cleaning tornado.
His white- haired brother had alphabetized Quinn's C.D.'s, Ezra's books, and Ashur's own manga collection. Now, as he headed to Quinn's 42" flat screen for the tenth time, Quinn snapped.
"Ashur!", he yelled, making the boy spasm out of 'cleaning mode' and look up at him with wide pale-blue eyes that matched the other boys perfectly, all being identical triplets. "Seth won't be back for three more days! Chill the heck out.", He said, then glanced behind him to the T.V.. "I'm missing the game!"
Ashur was still a moment, then he bowed his head and his shoulders slump.
Ezra sighed and scratched his check, "He hasn't seen him in a month, Q. He's excited is all."
Ashur was the shy one, Ezra the nerdy- yet- Emo one, and Quinn the protective sporty one. Quinn had been born first, twenty-nine seconds later- Ezra. A minute, Ashur.
