Making fame
 

this is a real life project that I did and I'm thinking about having it published but I guess I would like to know if it's really interesting. It's more or less a kind of detailed list of the things I did.



While in college I was required to find an internship. I was able to find one working for a local cover band. I’ve been big into music since middle school, sometimes I think the only reason why I have a job is so I can afford my music habit.

My first step was to make up a blog site to post all of their appearances. Then I went to sit in on one of their concerts, which was at a local bar, where I took photos and videos. Because of how dark it was some of the material came out better than others. After going through everything that I had gotten I posted the best pictures directly to their blog site. Then loaded the best of the videos to my YouTube account and linked them to their site.
My next job was to sketch up a couple of different logos. After they picked which one they liked the best I recreated it in a design program. From there I turned the logo into posters which I hung around the area to help advertise their gigs.
I continued to go to their performances collecting videos. Noticing the lack of traffic to their blog site I moved their site onto Facebook.
The band asked me to compile an audio CD. Though I only had video it was easy for me to rip audio from the videos and produced CDs with 17 tracks complete with CD cover and playlist. I also compiled DVDs filled with 8 different music videos. The CDs and DVDs are being used to market the band to a record agent.
With the band trying to market themselves it’s important that I design business cards. And after a handful of meetings we’ve agreed on the layout.
The band tends to go on hiatus during cold weather, because the majority of their gigs tend to be outside, But now that the weather is getting nicer show dates are lining up and I’m gearing up to go on the road with the band again. It promises to be an exciting year and we haven’t made the first gig yet.
