Hi everyone, I was looking around on here and thought that I would start a writing contest in hopes that it would inspire everyone.

The theme for the writing contest is personal journey. The short story or excerpt that is submitted to this contest is one that shows one or more character's personal journey in some way. It could be at the beginning, middle or end of the journey, or encompass a whole small journey, whatever you like.

I will give people adequate time to submit your writing to the contest and every participant will get a small prize, but the first and second place winners will get a whole outfit for their avvi. The exact details of the prizes can be discussed after I find out if there is any interest for this contest.

So what does everyone think? If this is popular I can continue doing writing contests on this thread.

Yay, I'm glad someone is interested! Feel free to give any suggestions about the setup of the contest, I've never run one before or run an event thread, this is all new to me.

Ah, I'm probably not the best person to ask, ha. I think everything is pretty well done at the moment ^^! I really hope other people join us here..
Oh, but, is there a limit to how many words the story can have? I know short stories are supposed to be short, but my version of short may be different from yours and.. Yeah~

Well, about a page in a word processor is considered a full post for stories on here so that would probably be a good length, although if something was two or three pages, that'd be good too. So that's what I would say my answer is, between 1-3 pages. I hope that is helpful.

. . . Alright, I'll try to keep it at that length... Oh gosh I have a hilarious idea for this.

I know that for some writers that three pages is not a lot, but just think of it as a start to a story, its okay for it just to be an excerpt. I can't wait to read it! Part of the reason that I wanted to do this contest is because I want to read other people's works.

I want to join in, but I have no idea what I would want for the prize if I won. xD Seems like a waste to enter for something you don't want, and take away someone else's chance.
