Writing Prompts Everyday!

First of all, I really do not know whether this is a good idea or not, and if it isn't, feel free to tell me and I'll make the thread inactive [ninja] ^^

I was thinking that this could be a thread where each new day a writing prompt is posted, and those who are willing can write a poem, a story, a plot for a story, a short story, or basically anything! (even a novel maybe [ninja]) And you can submit your writing here, and I'll post it on the front page for everyone to see :)

Prompt for today:
It was when I saw him my life changed. Completely.

OPEN~ Get your creative juices flowing! Cheers~

xuvrette 02-26-2014 01:58 PM

lol. Because I was cut out from my internet for a few hours today, I crank open my NaNo and continue writing on it. XD
Is this sudden 'motivation' call prompt?

what is writing prompt? Is it just random writing or...?

Lexadis 02-26-2014 02:49 PM

Yes, writing prompt is something that will make you motivated to write, something that will spark some kind of imagination into you ^_^

xuvrette 02-26-2014 02:54 PM

something that will make me write? so, in this case... internet malfunction?
Or do you mean the result of the writing?

Lexadis 02-26-2014 04:29 PM

Oh dear you confuse me XD Um.. for example, today the prompt I have chosen is -[It was when I saw him my life changed. Completely.] So reading/thinking about this will create me something that I can write, like a clue or a hint. Maybe I can write a short story, of a guy who met a vampire girl, or something like that. Or maybe it was when the protagonist met 'him' that her life started to take another turn. Maybe he helped the protagonist out of depression. Or maybe you can write a poem, the protagonist thanking/cursing the person who supposedly 'changed' her life. Can you get the idea of a.. 'prompt'? It is a pretty useful thing at times, it can basically 'prompt' your brain to think of something to write ^-^

And yes, internet malfunction can create you a prompt too I guess [XD] If you have anymore questions (and if I don't confuse you) then feel free to go ahead and post :) Cheers~

Oh and I hunted this for you, incase you can't understand my horrible explanation [XD]
Quote:

What Is A Writing Prompt?

If you’re a fiction writer, you may want to consider using writing prompts to kick-start your creativity. A writing prompt is simply a topic around which you start jotting down ideas. The prompt could be a single word, a short phrase, a complete paragraph or even a picture, with the idea being to give you something to focus upon as you write. You may stick very closely to the original prompt or you may wander off at a tangent.
You may just come up with rough, disjointed notes or you may end up with something more polished and complete, a scene or even a complete story. The point is to simply start writing without being held back by any inhibitions or doubts.

xuvrette 02-26-2014 05:41 PM

Don't jump straight to assume you are not good in explanation just yet. I am always in trouble understanding others, and my persistent in keep on asking question leads other people thought I am making fun of them or not trying to understand them, and other outlandish accusations. Sometimes, I just don't get it. XD lol.

heh... but internet malfunction is NOT a sentence? or topic?
It is a situation that forces me to do things that do not need internet. XD
The story have nothing to do with internet malfunction.

That being said, I do have some kind of writing prompt that kick start this whole story.
Topic or issue or things I want to discuss.
Intention matters, don't blame the tools.

But then, the motivation to keep me writing is random. Sometimes, I just felt WANT to write. Many times just abandon it. Nanowrimo is a good push.

Lexadis 02-27-2014 04:00 AM

No, I don't mind being asked questions, except for the fact that I sometimes don't understand it so well myself [XD]
Um.. yeah I guess. Then internet malfunction is surely not a prompt [XD] Nanowrimo - I wish one day I can join there :D But I don't think I yet can write a novel in a deadline >_>

xuvrette 02-27-2014 06:38 AM

Nanowrimo is not about the completion of A story. It is more to... force something out, and achieving word count 50k is the basic goal. But, as long as you have something written, I would consider it a good attempt.

Not about the completion of story or how good the story is. or grammar or structure.
I would love to have more nano buddies on mene to chat about during Nov.

Lexadis 02-27-2014 07:42 AM

Oh I didn't know that :D I never would have the time to complete it :( But I do hope I'll be able to spare some time on it once I complete my studies ^^ (if I do finish that is [XD])

xuvrette 02-27-2014 10:00 PM

But then, once you complete your studies, you would most probably have job! O__O
We are not likely to be freeeeee of other things.

Lexadis 03-01-2014 08:59 AM

Ah but that depends on my performance, doesn't it? I'm trying to end up at a university (hoping to become a doctor) but before then I still have to study for two and half more years, and if I don't get selected, then of course - another tedious year x.x and then if I do get to the university I would be studying for a 6 more years so I'm not sure about getting a job at all [XD] Maybe I'll end up as a housewife one day :D or a teacher whom I myself fear the most [ninja] but on a plus note, if I do become a housewife then if have lots of free time, right? [XD]

xuvrette 03-01-2014 02:02 PM

I personally think that housewife have more time.
Which my mother disagree.
I compare her with her working sister who have kids AND no maids, that her sister is much more busier!

Though teacher is a good job, it has long breaks. <33
DOCTOR!!! I salute you! Seriously, I can't stand the gross bits in my body. I hate bloody and gross things.

Lexadis 03-02-2014 05:11 PM

:D But my mum has no time at all :( They are not exactly busy, but they finish all their time trying to manage between heir household work and children... Like, my mum drops us to school at around 7.30 and then she cleans up the house till about 1, after which she has a bath and comes to pick us up. And then there comes tuition classes and all those stuff in the evening, and she has to go out as soon as she finishes eating. And then, at night there's the whole lot of clothes to iron and everything, and finally my mum ends sleeping exhausted than everyone else :/ And then again she has to wake at 4 in the morning to make us study [XD] Hard time, being a housewife it seems, after all [:D] Maybe they should start giving degrees for that [ninja]

Up until recently (and even now I suppose) I don't like seeing blood and such stuff myself. I once even fainted x.X But now I have a firm determination and I believe that anything and everything is possible :)

xuvrette 03-02-2014 05:41 PM

Imagine adding the existing housewive work, PLUS a full time job. Which one more busy?
housewife or the woman with fulltime job and still have kids and chores to do?

Lexadis 03-02-2014 07:41 PM

You make my head spin [XD] If other people read these posts I guess they'll think twice about wanting to be a housewife [ninja]

xuvrette 03-03-2014 03:46 AM

or a working woman.

Lexadis 03-03-2014 04:44 AM

Yes, exactly [sup]

xuvrette 03-03-2014 05:26 AM

Or woman, at all. XD

So, back to writing. Anything that prompt you writing successfully these few days?

Lexadis 03-06-2014 05:09 PM

Nope. But I'm suddenly tempted to make a blog, and to make those giant DIY crepe paper roses >_< How's your NanoWrimo going? C:

xuvrette 03-06-2014 07:03 PM

That previous internet down only enough to make me write two hundred words... measly amount.

Lexadis 03-08-2014 01:40 PM

Every bit counts :) and.. What story are you working on?
