I need help with my story idea~~~
I made this character for my main character and I'm not sure if its unique enough...
Name: Alice Shest Age: 17 species: Wolfgirl* looks: http://blacksheeppoet.deviantart.com...-Girl-71522143 Story: She now lives in the poor villiage of Behaven where the only orphans live on the streets or are dead... She is the eldest of the orphans currently and takes care of them all with her friend since childhood. She killed both of her parents when she was a little girl (about five or so) while under a trance by an eibi** and forgotten everything about it. Because she forgotten everything about she thinks that its her duty to search for the person who killed her family. After her whole family was killed though she was forced to live on the streets with an eibi named Aiden Carrier***. Asten was abandoned after he found out a secret about his father but he would never tell Alice. Alice then hears of one eibi named Crome who kills Wolf men and women for fun and delight. She then suspects that he killed her family and decides to search for him so that she can regain what she calls her families spilt blood... ---------------- Wolfgirl* Just basically a wolf girl... Like a person with wolf ears and tail eibi** They have cat ears, cat tail, and bat wings. They can also manipulate other souls at the cost of a piece of their own. The uniqueness of a character comes out in their personality more than anything else. How does she think and act? Does she have any odd little quirks that come out in her speech or daily habits? Does she lean more towards being a Type A or Type B personality?
You have an interesting story going for you, so it would probably be helpful to develop a strong heroine for it. Take the time to really map out the details and come to understand Alice as a person. When she's ready, you'll know. The only thing about what you've written that you might want to rethink is how she killed her parents. What would make a 5 year old able to overpower 2 strong adults? This takes a lot of explaining and a lot of pre-thought, so just be sure not to neglect this scene. If everything happens too perfectly, then you've set yourself up for writing a Mary Sue. |
Well, she is usually quiet and sad but when shes around people she cares about she pretends to be happy. Throughout the story she stops hiding her true emotions from poeple and learns to let her true self be outspoken to her friends and everyone who cares for her...
Well, when under the trance she was given an unusual curse that gave her the power of a million brute warriors but the only way she can use it is if she's under a trance. ((sorry for not mentioning this earlier. I thought I did :oops: )) Throughout the story she learns to harnest this power so that she can defeat anyone who gets in her way. Now the only questions I have are: Why was she cursed? Who would curse a five year old? And what would make her use the strength against her parents? |
She doesn't sound like anyone I've ever come across so I'd say she does sound pretty unique. Then again I've seen a fair few unique characters made cliche by how people choose to write about them. I'd say you have the potential for an interesting character.
With her power, make sure you give her weaknesses too otherwise she'll come across as too powerful and not very unique at all. ((About your siggy, Angel often runs out of characters in her siggy. As do a lot of people Linking things with images steals a lot of space.)) |
