Garden Gnome - The story
Hello dear reader, please draw near.
Listen closely to the facts that you hear. Truthes of a creature most annoying and sly. Invisible of norm, but visible by the eye. Heed these warnings, lest not ye be tricked. The Garden Gnomes goal is the World to be picked. |
The Facts?
Alright. Garden Gnomes. Such annoying creatures. They are invisible to most people, but if they show themselves once, they can never hide themselves from view from those same eyes who have seen them. Garden Gnomes come in all different nationalities with different accents. They always get people into trouble. It is part of their plot for world domination. I heard them say so when they were all gathering in their secret Garden Gnome Organization. They are highly sensative to being poked. They do not like haveing their own tricks used against them. They are rather vain creatures too. They carry around a pocket knife at all times. There are other little trinkets that they keep on themselves at all times as well. |

Of course. My boyfriend and I were watching the night through the window when we spotted them. The Garden Gnomes. They obviously did not think anyone would notice them. They walked across the backyard lawn and stopped, gathering in a circle. By now, my boyfriend and I were pulling our shoes and jackets on. We crept around to the screen door and continued to watch them. The Garden Gnome leader pressed a rock, serving as a lever. A hole appeared in the ground. The Garden Gnomes decended into the hole in single file after the direction of their leader. The leader was the last one through the hole. The grass closed as soon as he was completely through the hole. My boyfriend and I quietly opened the screen door and crept to where the Garden Gnomes had been standing. We stared at the ground some before I pushed the rock myself. The ground opened again, but this time it was large enough for my boyfriend and I to fit through. I had my boyfriend decend through the hole first, then I followed. I glanced up to see the hole close shut behind me. Now how would we get back up? We kept to the shadows and soon found a larger group of Garden Gnomes gathered togethed. They were all chatting about random things until the leader of the Garden Gnomes stood up, banged on the desk, and commanded silence. Everyone one instantly silent. The leader welcomed the other Gnomes to the "First Annual Garden Gnome Organization." He began talking of the plans for world domination and what they would each do in order to obtain this. Luckily, I had brought some paper and pencils with me in my jacket pocket. I jotted the notes down, so that I could warn everyone of the Garden Gnomes plot. When the meeting was over, they all started heading to the exit, which unfortunately was where my boyfriend and I were hiding. We quickly ran towards the entrance we had come from, hoping there would be an exit there as well. The Garden Gnomes saw us and ran after us. Luckily, the entrance was open again and my boyfriend and I maded it back to the surface safely. The Garden Gnomes followed us. We made it inside the house and watched from the window. The Garden Gnomes got inside because we did not know about their magic. They told us that they would forever pick on us since we were the only ones who knew about them and their plot. My boyfriend and I are constantly trying to beat them at their own tricks and avoid their annoying ways. |

I very much enjoyed the introductory poem, and I though your story line was interesting and original. Have you tried doing the whole thing in rhyme?

If it were in a rythmic form it would sound so much better because stories written in a poetic rythmic status are more memorable and kinda like an story passed down through the ages. (since stories with a tempo and a rhyme are much easier to remember than not) |
Yes, but trying to make the whole thing rhyme is really hard. I don't want to put that much work into it, lol.

I made it up on the spot. I had the Spiderwick Chronicles on my mind at the time, so that is why it is all in rhyme. ^_^ |
