A little tragedy that's also on NaruSaku.com that I wrote. This is a fanfiction of Naruto and the characters in this story do not belong to me, the plot however does. I am not making any money off this story.

He looked at her, staring into her emerald green eyes, hoping he hadn't heard what he had thought he heard.
Looking deep into her very soul through those bright orbs for a sign that this wasn't real, that it was a mistake, but after a few moments standing there he realized he would find no comfort from his pink haired companion. She stood there, eyes stuck to the floor as her words sunk in, causing him to reel backwards until he hit the ground. "Why?" The word stumbled out of his mouth as the girl watched him suffer from her words. "Because I don't love you." The blonde looked like he had been hit in the face with a brick, making him flinch as she spoke. "Why?" He asked again, needing a reason as to why she had shattered and crushed his dream of a future with her, why she had turned down his proposal of marrage to her. She looked at his face, a scene of anguish and dispair. Tears formed in her eyes as she told him, "I can't, not with you, it's.. just... too painful, I'm sorry, I really am." She reached out to stroke his face, but he brushed her away, his features assuming a look of sorrow she had never seen him have before. Quietly, she turned and left, leaving the doorway of his apartment empty, exactly like his heart.

Unable to think, let alone cry, he ran through the memory of his proposal, seeking out any mistakes he had made.

*They had been sitting on a hill, not far from where they lived, staring at the night sky on their backs, her head in on his shoulder, her long pink hair fanned out around them and him playing with one of her pink tresses. It had been the second anniversity of them going out as a couple and his life couldn't have felt more perfect. Her eyes had grown wide as he brought out a velvet blue box, inside was a small golden ring with a pink diamond set in the middle. Her face going red as he asked her to marry him. Asking for more time she had run home, leaving him on the hill with a confused look on his face. He waited for a week before he found a letter on his doorstep, that pretty much said "Sorry, but no." Gripping the letter he'd run over to her house, to find her leaving for work, stopping her as he waved the letter around he asked what was going on, getting only a, "I'll talk about it later". Later turned out to be seven hours later at his place, where she told him that she wasn't willing to get married to him, and that it was probably better if they just stopped seeing each other at all, which led up to current events.*

Standing up he moved to his bathroom, finding his face soaked with tears as the woman he loved walked out of his life, washing his face while his thoughts were a dull void, empty, and as scattered as his goals and ambitions. Briefly he scanned his medical cabnet for something to ease the pain, selecting the most powerful anesthetic he had and emptying the bottle into his mouth, causing him to cough from the bitter taste and feeling. Making his way into the hall he stumbled over onto the floor, not having the energy or motivation to make it to his bed. As he passed out he thought of his life with her, how it had gone so smoothly, and then just ended as quickly as if it had never happened.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crying, she made her way to her house, long pink hair swaying behind her as she came to a stop in front of her door. Pulling her small pouch that acted as a purse out, she started rummaging though it searching for her key. As she brought it out she saw a small picture of him smiling at her, walking inside she held it out infront of her, making her rethink her answer to him. When he had first asked her a week ago if she wanted to marry him she hadn't been able to think of an answer, causing her to run, then, over the week she could think of nothing but them spending forever together, and it had scared her. But now, she was starting to think that he might be worth it. Staring at him longer only seemed to confirm the feeling, and she rushed to go apologize.

Nearing his door she found that it wasn't even closed yet, peeping in she found it the same as it had been when she had left, with one difference, his form laying on the floor in the hallway, making no noise at all. Calling out his name brought no response, and as she stepped in he made no movements to get up. Moving over to his side she shook him to get his attention, but his body lay still and unmoving, shaking harder and calling his name proved useless. Fearing something was amiss she yelled out his name, waking a few neighbors in the process, but still no answer came. Some of the neighbors looked in and saw her screaming at the unmoving boy, quickly they hurried out to call the authorities. Moments later he was being carried on a stretcher to the hospital, which wasn't far away. As she followed she felt a sinking feeling in her heart, the kind you get when you can feel something awful was going to happen, and hoped to god that he didn't die because of her.

They neared the hospital where she happened to work as a medic, and rushed him into the Emergency Room. Sitting in the waiting room one of the staff asked her if she knew what was going on while she numbly shook her head. It was only twenty minutes later before a few doctors and nurses came out, silent, and weary. Running up to one of them that she recognized she asked him if he knew about the blonde boy with blue eyes that had gone in. He looked at her with a face that she knew all too well as he told her about how he was too far gone on a drug overdose for them to save him. As he spoke she felt tears coming back to her eyes as she felt herself lose him for a second time that day. Grief and sorrow welled up inside her as she broke into a sob in the waiting room, causing looks from around the room as she collapsed, pain evident in her sobs. The doctor helped her up, guiding her towards the dieing blonde's room. Opening the door as she ran to his bed, wrapping her arms around him and sobbing into his chest, she listened to his slowing heart beat. "Why?" She asked, listening for a sign that he would come back to her. Nonetheless, she was surprised as he struggled out a few words, "Because I loved you." Then he was silent and his chest stopped moving, causing her to break down again as this time he, left her, only this time forever. "I love you too!" she cried, begging him to come back to her, but he was silent for the rest of the night.

Before anyone tells me about the second paragraph I'd just like to say that I know it's terrible. I'm not really good at telling about past events. Also this was my first ever fan fiction so it's probably not anywhere near as good as the ones that are on here.

Hi Telos ~ Please remember that double posting is against the rules, so I've gone ahead and merged your two posts together. Next time just edit your previous post if you want to add more information. Thanks!

Yeah, posting after me is fine. Just not after yourself unless it's been at least five hours.
