Lost Love**
- By Lilithia.
Cho closed her eyes. The wind blew against her long raven black hair and it made her shiver, not from the cold, but from the touch itself. She touched the giant oak at the trunk, and wiped the snow away to reveal an old carving of a heart. Within the heart, there were markings which were written, “C.D. and C.C. Always”. Cedric never liked writing “forever”. It seemed too superficial for him, which is why he had written “Always” instead.
Cho tried to hold back her tears at this memory, but her unused tears began to overflow in her eyes, and started to fall down her cheeks. She remembered the days they used to spend together. She remembered how he had convinced himself to finally admit that he loved her, and though they might not have been together for long, it was such a strong power of a love, even if it was so short.
Had she known that the Triwizard Tournament would have risks in death, she would have told him not to enter, and not to ever put his name into the Goblet of Fire in the first place.
But what was the point in changing the past, he was gone now. Cho knew that so well. She took out a rose, and laid it at the foot of the tree trunk where the heart was carved.
She took out her wand and bit it. She wanted to make a tribute to Cedric, it had been five years since he passed away, and it was the anniversary of his death today. She wanted to show him that she still cared about him, and she still loved him. But now standing in front of the tree, at the place where their love began, she was lost for words, let alone spells.
She waved her wand around, fidgeting and trying to think up of a spell worthy of such a tribute, but her wand seemed to have a mind of its own. Maybe it was because she had unicorn essence within her wand, or maybe it was just because they were her favourite animal, and the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.
Like a hologram, and as fast as light, a projection of a group of young white unicorns came flying out from her wand and started circling the giant oak tree. As they ran, she noticed she could still see through them, and the red rose’s petals start to glow.
Surprised and scared, she stepped back, and bumped into someone.
She turned around and spoke, “Oh, I am so sorry, I didn’t know you were-”
She stopped when she realized who she was speaking to. “Cedric?” she whispered in disbelief.
Cedric did not speak back, but wrapped his arms around her as she started to cry; burying her face on his shoulder.
“Where have you been!” she yelled, starting to bash his back.
“Why did you leave me!? I’ve missed you…”
Cedric took out his wand, and pointed it at the sky, to Cho’s surprise, snowflakes started to fall. Cedric kissed her forehead and cuddled her as if it was his last. But Cho was too happy to notice; she let Cedric go with her arms wide open, and twirled around smiling, looking up at the falling drops of ice from the sky.
When she was done, she turned back to look at Cedric, but he was not there.
“It’s alright,” she whispered to herself. “I know it’s not your fault you went away… But don’t worry…”
“I’ll always remember.”
The End.
