Will also put other poems in here I wrote.

(I wrote this poem for a D&D campaign I'm writing...its kinda cheesy but I like it.)

I could not stem the slaughter, and so I gave my life
I could not end the bloodshed and so I gave up my strife
Locked in a prism, lost in the Fabrics of Time
I failed in my duties, but my job is not yet done
Return to me what was lost
Return to me what is hard to find
return to me where the sleepers lie beneath the sands of time.

I could not end all suffering
I could not end all strife
I could not protect my people and so I gave my life
Take this piece of my soul
Return it to its rightful place
Hold it close this sacred gem
Let my end not be in vain.

Please...

Singing so sweetly, so softly
Telling tales to townsfolk
Fascinating small children, large nobles
Longsword, dagger, Rapier
Dancing about in a prissy wardance
Longbow, crossbow, Any instrument
Strings, warchants, songs, storytelling
The Thieving little bard
The diplomatic little bard
The underestimated little bard
The misunderstood little bard
The hated bard
What's the use of a bard?
Inspiring courage, heroics, fascinating
Spells of all sorts, spontaneously casting
Strumming along a good old song
La La La di La Da
The bard...what more can I say?

(I'm a big fan of dungeons and dragons and its influenced my poetry a bit these days, not that its made my poems worse...but its just a bit Dungeons and Dragons oriented. D&D started me on my immense love of bards. And I have been a bard lover ever since. This poem was fun to write.)

Thieving, sneaking
Always on the go
Rapiers, daggers and short swords alike
Charismatic Diplomatic Rogues
Asking for and getting what they want
Sneaky underhanded rogues
Picking a pocket without a second thought
Battling Tricky rogues
Striking when you least expect it
Tumbling Through the Town
Stealing the crown jewels
Handling nasty disputes with ease
Stabbing you in the back
Rogues are underestimated
Never underestimate them
With their skills
You won't know
What is coming

Explosions, Destruction, Chaos
A list of spells so well known
Wearing Armor so frightening
Fireballs, magic missiles, lightning bolts
Spontaneous casting all the way
Knowledgeable in History and the Arcane
Though not good at much.
Good at what they do
Excellent even
Wonderful spell list
Evocation and Conjuration
Tenser's Floating Disk
Does not satisfy
My need to destroy
Of all the specialized arcanists.
Warmages, limited in spells
Heavy artillery to the last
Useful in many ways regardless

In a time far away
I'll sing you a song
Listen to my tale
I swear it not to be long.

Come to the dance
Join me one and all
The fire shall not burn you
Listen to the pagan call

I call you to the dance
I call you to my song
Listen to my voice
There must be something for which you long

A princess in a tower
The king on his throne
The hero slain in battle
Now she sleeps alone

I call you to the dance
Listen to my voice as I sing
The story a multitude of endings
For the pagan bell now rings

Drink to keep warm through the cold winter nights
Keep close to your friends with whom you will fight.
Keep your lady close to your side
Keep your wits about you in the cold winter nights

I call you to the dance
Stories yet remain untold
Take up your drink
And take away the cold

The stars shine down
Even on moonless nights
The drums they pound and your blood will hum
To the pagan sound of this Rhennee tune.

I call you to the dance
Drink to the light of the moon
Far and away the world never seen
I swear I shall catch you if you swoon

Into the fire we frolic and play
Let not the song be forgotten
The pagan tune, the goddess song
Hear my call the night yet young

I call you to the dance
Lift your drinks high
Join me in the song
Or tell a story to the sky

I call you to the dance
My your blood come alive
I call you to the song
Listen to my tale

(spoken) - And Everyone join in the drink!

I call you to the dance
Let it not be forgotten
I call you to the song and story
Let your voice be heard....

(Heh...a song thing I wrote for an RP a character of mine is in elsewhere. Its still rough around the edges, but it is a poem, as a lot of songs are. Just thought I'd share. Don't be afraid to give me feedback, I know my poetry does need improvement!)

New day new poem! 8D

Math

Oh Math...I hate you so.
Your equations puzzle me
The formulas...are worse than ever
That calculator I needed to get for you
Was expensive and most functions
I will never use in my lifetime.

Sure, you can be useful in real life
Situations
But still, why...why do you torture me
With your matrices and your quadratic formulas.
I am an english major
Math...is something I shouldn't need.

And yet there you are
Waving your numbers 5, 84, 3249
In my face like some smug little child
Or some old adult wanting his way

And why oh why...must you insist
On being so tough
Why oh why must you insist
That tests need be cumulative...
And that we memorize all the facts

You're a cruel cruel subject
Not a kind teacher at all
Not a kind subject at all
For those of us that just
Can't seem to grasp your language

Learning a foreign language...
And learning math...
Are not anything alike.
So please don't compare
I'd rather write poetry...
Or a novel.

To me, that is easy, and fun.
My oh my...math is not fun
for me
At all.

Good day.

Yay for my occasional poems! 8D

Books:

I love books
So much
They do so many things
Inspire imagination
Inspire writing
Inspire art
Inspire movies

They're fantastic
Inspirational
Wonderful
Beautiful

Books they aren't meant to just sit on a shelf
They are meant to be read
They are meant to be seen
They are meant to be heard!

Love your books
Treat them with love
Never judge a book by its cover

I hope...one day, my book
Gets published
And it becomes a loved book
For someone, anyone, everyone

Books are treasures
Something the internet and computers
Can never replace
Give me a book anyday.

Books are love.

@ Akito - Thanks.

@ Litany - That's my understanding of the rules.

NEW POEM!

Dragons are the greatest
Of all the mythological creatures
As the saying goes
"To a dragon, you are crunchy...
And taste good with Ketchup"
If a dragon tells you to do something
Its usually best to do it.

They're usually twice...three times your size.
Good and bad dragons exist
In a multitude of colors
And sizes, shapes, and all have magical abilities
Some have devastating breathweapons
Some have devastating spells
Some have really good flight
Some have really strong attacks

Dragons are my favorite
They have so much to offer
And so much to give
I love them
So much
So very very much.

...okay, that one might've sucked...was feeling just a tad bit uninspired. 8D

I felt that way a lot as well.

@ Immortal- thanks!

New poem today!

It rained today, fast and hard
It rained today while we were playing games
It rained today the sky was so gray
It rained today and it was awesome in many ways

The rain poured down in sheets of white
There was some lightning in the sky
It didn't really last that long to my eyes
But the rain was beautiful nevertheless

I got to watch it through glass windows
Seeing it come down in perfect pitter patter patterns
As I stayed safe inside the building
Playing games with my gamer friends around me

The rain looked white at times
It struck the ground hard and fast
Reminded me of sheets of glass
With the speed of how it came down

I knew it wouldn't last long
Starting so suddenly, it would end quickly
It cooled down the world around us
Around the little gameshop I was in

It made things pleasant
Rain can do things like that.

New Poem!

I've played a lot of games in my day
And all of them (well, mostly all)
Have been tons of fun
The memories I carry with me
Of all those friends and hours spent
Playing the day away

It could be simple games I've played
Like Go Fish and Crazy 8s.
Or something complicated
Like one of those MMORPGs you find online

I've played tabletop
I've played videogames
I've played online and offline
I've played card games
I've played board games

I'll play whatever I can when I can
Its so much more fun that doing homework.
It really is.

Playing tabletop games
Allowed me to meet so many new people
Playing online games
Allowed me to hang with some of my friends
That I don't see as often anymore.
Playing card and board games
With my family is precious precious moments
I never want to waste
And playing with friends too
Is tons and tons of fun

Games connect people in odd ways
No matter what you play
Play it all night
And play it every single day.

Fun little diddy today! *nod nod nod*

My internet is made of fail
It makes me want to scream and wail
It takes so long for things to load
I think my head just might expload

Its not the sites that i'm visiting
Though problems exist there I've seen
Its the problem of the local netz
The school netz that we're forced to pet

They can't seem to find something that works
And are unwilling to fix their quirks
They like symantic yes they do
I'd rather have something else wouldn't you?

If your computer needs to be fixed
They'll take it in rather quick
And it'll come back completely erased
Or back just well enough not to crash in your face

Which only lasts a week anyways
I don't let them touch my computer any days
I've heard horror stories to make you twitch
So I have every right to bitch

They won't even allow females to work there
Well, there's one, but appearances are just fair
I know a gal who fixes computers easy
And they don't want her, she'd outdo them easy peasy

Which is sad because they really need the help
Its a shame that even they won't listen to your yelp
I'd rather have my computer in a working natural state
Its kinda my livelihood and if it failed I'd be irate.

Of course at times some sites work just fine
And its just my favorite ones that are offline
Why is the internet sometimes so asinine?
It can really just kiss my skinny white behind.

Ahhh...that felt good.

New poem today! 8D

Dancing close to the one you love
Hips touching, practically attached
Grinding moving bumping to the beat
Feel the rhythm, feel the heat

Sensual intimate though there is a crowd
Not something that I would shout aloud.
Just hold your body close to mine
Everything in the end should be fine

The song changes the beat quickens
As does my pulse, heart is pounding
Your lips brush my neck, Teeth nibble my ear
And on a slight little sigh I say jokingly "not here"

Whispered words and soft caresses
The dance moves you cross the floor
Holding your partner close his front to your back
The beat steadily increasing...decreasing

The song as a sigh comes down from above
Can it be anything other than true love
To feel you on the dance floor
To feel your song, how can it be anything, its not wrong

And so to this ode of dancing I sing
The joy that a good dance can always bring
Its a celebration of intimacy and of the times
And that is never ever a crime.

Oye...yay for writing. 8D

New poem today!

"Mid Terms"

Mid term exams come quite unexpected
Mid term exams creep up in the night
Mid term exams are something truly special
Mid term exams force you to put up a fight

Its not bad enough to have just one or two
And I pity those who have two or three
But my midterms came up as a doosey
And they made me feel rather whoosy

If you can't guess, it wasn't just one
If you can't guess, it wasn't just two
Fate didn't even see fit for just three
Fate seemed that it wanted me to have four

Four out of my five classes midterms this week
Its bad enough to make a mouse squeak
English, English, Math and Poly Sci
Its bad enough to make me want to cry

However a plus and little it means
Though I hate math, I'm understanding it
At least that's how it seems
Its scary to think that all this semester

I'll do well in math...while other classes fester
Political Science wasn't that bad, and my modernist poetry
I doubt I can fail for trying
The Ethnic lit course is scary in itself

But Math...all of math...I think I will pass.
I got an A on the first test
Wow...that was showing some class.

Do well in your studies and remember this
Always know your exam dates, or else there's no bliss
Study hard and study well
Else you'll be in the midst of Mid Term HELL!

:)

HUA! I haven't posted a poem in a while, so I shall! *nods and poses*

Winter's Coming Round the Bend
Its chilly and cold outside
The wind blows fierce and the leaves are changing
There's no where you can hide.

The leaves are pretty yes its true
In hues of Orange and Red
But the grass is dying the sky has clouds
And the flowers all but dead

As you look around the way
The wind blows in your eyes
Caught up in a torrent of leaves
And snow starts to fall from the skies

Where I live the seasons are odd
In the summer we could get snow!
Even though that doesn't really happen
In Wisconsin we'll never know

I sit inside all blanketed and warm
And think on all kinds of things
The smiles and joy of nature's ploy
To get everyone involved in its seasons

Though its cold, I love winter the most
For why? Its hard to explain
But when my allergies drown out in snow
Its kind of hard to complain

A blanket of white just covers the land
And sun reflects on its hue
Just remember never to eat the yellow snow
I can hear loud cries of "EWWWW!"

Winter comes and goes real fast
At least it seems that way
But as they say when having fun
The days just pass away.

Been a while.

Writers Block

I have problems with my writing
Urges I seem to be fighting
Or Urges never happening
My writing has gone south
the need to write more with it

I don't know the problem or the issue
It puzzles me so
I wish I could better understand
The problems behind my inability to write
Anything decent now.

I normally write okay
But something
SOMETHING
SOMETHING
Pulsating in my mind
Is telling me
"STOP! NO WRITING FOR YOU!"

My mind is ever turning
My need to write is yearning
My body isn't learning
That writing is what I want to do

Writers block has come to stay
No I do not want to come out to play
Perhaps maybe never ever another day
You can die and go away
I want to write today okay?

Hee...that's it for today.

New Years Eve
What to say?
I have to find resolve
Who knows what will happen
In good old 2009

Think I'll be fine
Can never be sure
Resolutions are for now
Though really when
I think really hard

I don't keep them.

New Years Eve
A New Year begging
Last one ending
Just a few hours from now
What will happen

Should I care?
It might not affect me
Anyhow

Then again it might
Who knows
I don't know
But you see I still will try
To find a resolution
Somewhere in my mind
As scattered as it usually is.
