Please feel free to critique. I am always interested in improving.

This is a poem I wrote for an Inn at Eternal Nox (another avatar site which unfortunately is no longer with us)

Meet me at the Moonlight Inn
Where the dark and you are welcome friends.
The night’s gentle smile in the sky
Seems to ask if you’ll stop by
To sip sweet dreams or bide awhile
To rest between the next hard miles.

So sit and think and listen well
As many here have a tale to tell.
The darkest corners hold the brightest lights--
Those who have wings that stretch in flights
Of fancy and wishes and secrets dire.
Rest here my dear traveler by the fire.

Drink down the words as well as the ale
Escape the world that is harsh and stale.
For here each night are stories fresh
And dreamers meet and soul friends mesh.
Place an order, we’ll bring a plate
Set down your stars and change your fate.

Written after I ran into my high school sweetheart years after we lost touch:

Apple Blossom

I saw you today at the mall,
Strong with work and love.
You told me you were getting married tomorrow,
As you held your beautiful baby girl,
And twisted your wedding band on your finger.
Somewhere inside me a wisp of a dream
Fluttered away like tattered silk in the wind.

This was written because my friends always tease me about being "one of the quiet ones"--Make sure you read the title or you might get the wrong idea:sweat:

Bookworm: The Love Life of an Avid Reader or To Freud with Love
Also titled: It’s Always the Quiet Ones—a Salute to Librarians

Many are my lovers,
Opening themselves to me,
Sharing their innermost selves.
Like a fickle schoolgirl, I flit
From one to another,
Satisfying my hunger,
Growing sated.
They fondle my soul
With their desire
To be used.
I run a fingernail down
A lover’s spine in anticipation
Of the assignation to come.
In a fit of passion,
I will strip them of their jackets,
Leaving them naked, my fingers
Grasping their sides in my lustful
Pursuit of more.
I leave them lying on the floor,
Trembling in the breeze of my passing,
While I hunt for the next victim
Of my unquenchable thirst.
