Welcome to my thread of poetry!

I love to write so I thought "Why not share it everyone else?!"
In my opinion, poetry is about expressing oneself.
Yes I know that line is cliché, but it's true.
It's wouldn't be a popular form of literature otherwise, right?

Anyways, I hope you enjoy the poems! Comments and critiques are welcome.

The Sound of Slience

The sound of silence
It's bitter-sweet
No words are spoken
It's quite discreet

The emotions are well hidden
Like playing hide and seek
Or like a bird forbidden
To spread it's wings

Its true nature lies beneath
But fear conquers all
And thus begins to retreat
Within a second, it falls

Crushed, it stows away
Back from its cave
Just waiting to decay
Or to anticipate its early grave.

"EMO"

A piece my friend shared with me. I didn't write this. I'm not sure where she found it or who wrote it, but I could relate to the poem.

Quote:

Because you need a word for all the ways
In which I am different from you
For all the things you hate me for
The ways I don't belong
In your vague and flawed perception of who I should be
You completely fail to see the person I really am
Your assumptions have no basis in actual reality
And your words are hollow having no significance
I am the only person I know how to be
And I won't pretend for you any longer
I will never be like you so the pointless charade continues
"Idiot" I call you
Because I need a word for all the ways
In which you are ignorant and vicious
For all the things that disgust me about you
How I resent the fear in your eyes
Dislike having the entirity of who I am defined
By a single word steeped in such condescension
You will never change me
Not with all your hatred and violence
It is a meaningless and pathetic attempt
You're not worth the waste of my energy and emotions
But I pity those like you
No one this heartless could have ever known
What it is to truly love

Rose Thorns

I wrote this when I was feeling down.

This means war, I smell your fear.
The blood was shed, the end is near.
Approaching me was your biggest mistake.
Why gamble your life at such high stakes?

Your innocence is tainted.
The actions peculiar at the time.
I know your smile is painted.
Your always denying all your crimes.

This means war, I smell your fear.
The blood was shed, the end is near.
Approaching me was your biggest mistake.
Why gamble your life at such high stakes?

You hand me a rose before the lies.
White petals will soon burn to red.
You caught me off-guard and so surprised.
Then little by little you fled.

This means war, I smell your fear.
The blood was shed, the end is near.

Why gamble your life at such high stakes?

My eyes shift from left to right.
Always waiting for your attack.
Trying to avoid your sight.
I know you'll stab me in the back.

This means war, I smell your fear.
The blood was shed, the end is near.

I want you to leave, just leave me alone.
If you don't, I'll leave chills within your bones.
