"Every treasured, broken, moment, laid in a heap upon the floor,
no room to lay your head down, no wish to think of more,
careless eyes forever watching, coldly neutral, half obscene,
faded halos splattered on the walls that glimmer green,
rows of buried candles ignite to balls of flame,
tongues of fire slither closer, moths rejoicing in your pain.
with a dart of quicksilver, scorched air cools to rain,
farie squalor clusters closer as the moon begins to wane.
reflections swim and slither into shattered glass walls,
fear quickens to terror before forgotten footfalls,
keen eyes peering gently through a hole in other worlds,
ragged time dispersing, a lesson learned of pearls.
music deepens to an echo within a forbidden maze
something in you pulls away in an ever dreaming daze
butterflies to guard you, manatees to barr the way...
and dragons and demons to leap toward the fray,
lies and obscure murmurs, veils and inward spreading stains,
portals thrust, all brutal, open, soft daggers clinging to our bane
furies slowly dampened join every ardour bound away...
bright whispers in darkness stalk each star killed by the day,
each of us follow a different otherway, footprints on clay roadside
vibrant breezes play, dust trickling to diamonds, fearless side by side.
Shimmer-soft shadows slip close in an unsettling embrace,
foul lanterns weighed down by one unthinking olive spray
Kites catch on wisps of cloud tails, and we kneel to pray."
