The Meeting
Deep darkness surrounds her
What is this tingling in the back of her head? She isn’t Spiderman, she’s sure of it Then why? What lurks there? She bushes it off Too many scary movies when she was young She continues onward A cold clammy hand touches her shoulder She screams and turns A well-manicured man stands there Gorgeous green eyes Slick black hair Snappy suit “I didn’t mean to startle you Where can I find a bit to eat around here?” Charm oozed from him “Why there is a place-“ No time to scream No time to struggle No time to think before- As the blood left her vanes She wondered Was this what that tingling was? “Hell, I didn’t even know vampyres were real until-“ Deep darkness surrounds her Now she is the reason for tingling Turned ‘spider senses’ in for ‘bat senses’ Touches someone on the shoulder Asks for a bit to eat Eats |
Penguin <3
Slip slide Wosh
First time out to sea What a sight to see Ice all around Black and white suits Sliding on stomachs Splashing into the waves Gliding through the deep Porpoising at high speeds Catch a fish Don’t let the seal catch you The time has come Jumping back onto the ice Long way to travel Waddling along Find your mate Laying eggs is done Females leave the eggs in daddy daycare They’ll be back in a few months Fathers huddle together Ever moving cycle Have you’re turn on the outside Eggs hatch, little fluff-balls Plump Mother’s return Father’s leave Chicks grow large Down starts to fall away Time for chicks to go out on their own Slip slide Wosh First time out to sea What a sight to see |
The Dream
The sleeper awakens.
No longer is he on a soft bed of grass, But on an endless span of cold, dark stone. To his surprise, there are Demons in the sky With white and red flashing eyes Looking down, harsh torches send a hazy yellow glow to a town. A town of expansive sameness The roaring of Dragons fill the steely streets Running from place to place like ants, eyes a-glow At last, he sees some sign of Demeter Stumbling through the savage streets he reaches a line of trees A small expanse of nature But no Druid would call this home When the creek beds reek of urine and decay The sleeper awakens, To a harsh realization of his future. |
